7 Dice Addition 2 dice Recording Paper Roll 1 Dice in Dice. Add the numbers. Record your number sentence. Be sure to write the inside number first = 4 Roll 1 Dice in Dice. Subtract the numbers. Make sure the greater (bigger) number is first. Record your number sentence. 3 1 = 2
8 Domino Dots Dominoes Recording Paper Take a domino. Write the number on the left. Add the number on the right. This will give you the sum = 13 For subtraction, take the number of all the dots. Subtract the number on the left. This will equal the number on the right = 9
9 Count the Cards Cards Recording Paper Take two cards. Add them together to get a sum = 14 For subtraction, take the higher card and subtract the lower card
10 Close to 20 Twenty Frame Dice Counters One partner rolls the dice and puts that many counters on the twenty frame. The second partner rolls the dice and adds on to the counters already on the twenty frame. Repeat so that each person takes 2 turns.
11 Compare Cards Divide the cards equally between you. Leave the cards face down! Each player will turn a card over. The player with the higher card wins so they say ME! and takes the cards and puts them in a new pile. Continue until all cards have been played. ***Challenge Each player turns two cards over and adds them together. The player with the highest sum wins.*** ME! For subtractions subtract the two cards. The lowest difference wins.
12 How Many am I Hiding? 3-10 pennies, or whatever you have handy Using your child s special number, hide some in your hand and put the rest on the table. Ask them, How many am I hiding? Continue through all the combinations for their number. Record your answer by drawing it in two different colors and then writing the addition sentence = 8
13 Square by Square Materials Each player will need: game board 35 counters 2 dice How to Play Take turns rolling the dice and finding the sum of the numbers rolled. Count out the number of counters that match the sum and place them on the game board in a straight horizontal or vertical line. If a player can t place their counters in a straight line, they lose their turn. At any time a player can chose to roll only one die, but then they have to use that one die until the game is over.
14 Roll and Record Materials Paper with numbers 1 12 written on it 2 dice How to Play Roll the dice. Decide if you want to add or subtract. Write the number sentence on the paper in the space of the answer. Continue until you have a number sentence written on all 12 spaces. Decide: = 4 * or 3-1 = =
15 One More game board die counters How to Play: Player 1 rolls the die. The player may cover any square that represents a number one greater than the number rolled. Player 2 rolls. First player to get 4 in a row is the winner.
16 Bump! An addition game for 2 players Materials Needed: 2 dice 10 different counters for each player gameboard Directions: Roll dice and put a cube on that number. If another player s marker is on that number BUMP it off. If your marker is on that number, link the cubes together and it freezes that spot. The winner is the player that uses all of his/her markers first! Lucky you! If you get doubles, you get to roll again.
17 Yahtzee Gameboard 2 dice counters How to Play: Roll both dice. Add them together. Put a counter on the sum. You win when all the numbers are covered.
18 for each player gameboard ( 2 dice 10 cubes How to Play: Play with a partner. Each one has a board and 10 cubes. Place the cubes on the board above the numbers. You can place more than one cube above a number. The player rolls 2 dice and adds the dice together. If there is a cube above that sum, the player takes one cube off that sum. Whoever clears his/her board first, wins.
19 Make Zero bag full of cubes die How to Play Take a cup or bag full of cubes. Count the number of cubes. Write that number in the first blank. Roll a die and write that number in the second blank. Subtract that many cubes. Write your answer. Continue the next line with your answer. Continue subtracting until you have zero cubes. Repeat with new cubes.
20 The Tree House Game desk of cards game board How to Play: With a partner, choose to be odd or even. Use a deck of cards with Take turns drawing a card from the pile. If the person who is odd, draws an odd number he/she writes that number on the bottom of the tree. If not, the turn is over. Even, writes only even numbers. The person who gets to the top first is the winner. (Use the symbols on the cards to figure out if a number is odd or even. Do they have partners?)
21 Cross Out Addition gameboards 2 dice How to Play: Play with a partner. Take turns rolling the dice and cross out whatever they roll. If a player cannot cross out that number (all have been crossed out) that player's turn is over. Play continues until someone crosses off the last number. He/she is the winner.
Example: I predict odd, roll a 5, and then collect that many counters. Play until time is up. The player with the most counters wins.
