1 December Everyday Math Stations Same or Different: Students were paired up and given a baggie with three craft sticks in it. The sticks were colored red on one side and blue on the other. This is to learn about probability. They had to graph whether or not they all landed on the same side or if there were different colors. The first row to fill was the winner. Then we met as a class to discuss our findings and why they thought different came up most often for almost everyone.

2 Gingerbread Man Bump it Addition: Students were paired up and each one was given 9 place markers. They had to roll the dice, add the total between the two dice and cover their answer. Partners had to check each other s math to make sure they had the correct answer. If they were incorrect, they could not cover it. Whoever gets the most covered wins.

3 Partner Number Identification Games: One partner say a number and the other partner finds the number card. One partner show a number card and the other collects that number of objects. One partner claps a number of times and the other silently counts and holds up the number card. One partner says a number and the other tells what number comes before or after that number. Beat the 5 minute timer: try to put the numbers 1-20 in the correct order before the timer goes off. Number of the week: Each week we add a new number. We were working on the numbers 0-18 when these pictures were taken. First they have to write the number of the week 5 times Rainbow Number. Then, they practice writing the number of the week with correct formation. Next, they color the number on ten frames. Finally they write their numbers from 0 up to the number of the week. They have to trace the numbers once and then write them on their own. Each of these activities is completed every week.

4 Building Rudolf Dice Roll: At this center, we are practicing recognizing the dots on the die without having to count. We rolled a die, and found the number on the sample Rudolph to see which part we got. The object was to complete Rudolph. Reindeer Roll and Count: Students play with a partner. Each player takes turns rolling the dice and then moving their reindeer that many spaces on the game board. The first deer to the barn wins.

5 Roll-a-Reindeer: Students roll their dice and then draw the part on the reindeer that matches the number on their dice. Number puzzles: Matching numbers 1-30 to pictures.

6 Number Trains: Students roll the die and then collect that number of blocks to add to their train. First player to 20 wins. Students practiced writing the numbers 1-10 using Tux Paint on the computer. Reindeer addition Bump: students roll the dice, add the total, find and cover the number on their board. The first student to cover all of their numbers wins.

7 Roll and build a gingerbread man. Roll and draw a gingerbread man. Focus is on identifying the number of dots without counting. GINGERBREAD MAN ADDITION with gingerbread man counters.

8 Estimating and Measuring with gingerbread men. Gingerbread Man addition run. Students take turns rolling the dice, adding the total and moving their gingerbread man that many spaces on the board. The first one to reach the fox loses because they get eaten. Gingerbread man matching patterns.

9 Gingerbread man spin and count game: Gingerbread Man Squeeze, played just like monster squeeze from last month. Reindeer and Gingerbread Man Number Order: students had to work with a partner to put number cards in the correct order from zero to 10, 20, or 30 depending on their knowledge of numbers.

10 Counting by tens: First we counted by tens on our fingers. The children sat in a circle and put up all ten of their fingers, then we went around the circle counting by tens. We talked about how we count by tens on our calendar board by counting pennies, counting bundles of straws and by counting our number line and hundreds chart. Then the students worked with a partner to put the gingerbread ten frames in order adding the number cards next them. Then we hung one set up in the room to help us remember our tens. Students also had to match number cards to the ten frames Counting by tens: Students worked with a partner to put the numbers in order by tens.

11 Gingerbread Number Sentences: Students had to cut out gingerbread men to solve addition and subtraction story problems. Roll and color the number on the gingerbread man: We also Graphed our first bite of our Gingerbread cookies during our party! (Not pictured)
