2 Math Activity Task Cards Thank you for purchasing this product. I created these task cards because I love providing my students with choices. Giving my students the ability to choose what type of learning best suits their needs is what I love most about Personalized Learning. At the beginning of the year, I teach my students how to play several of the these activities and then add them to a pocket chart. During my Math Workshop, I have an activity rotation. Sometimes I give my students a must-do for which activity to do, but mostly I offer them the ability to choose from any of the task cards posted in the pocket chart. I love how this provides my students with the opportunity to take ownership of their own learning. As the year progresses, I teach additional activities and rotate the cards through the chart. 3 Number Compare use a deck of cards split the cards equally you and your friend(s) each turn over a card the friend with the biggest number wins all of the cards Number crunch use the Greater Than-Less Than Gator split the cards in half the Gator eats the bigger number What s the sum? flip over two cards add the numbers together or roll two dice add the numbers together What s the difference? flip over two cards put the bigger number on top and subtract or roll two dice put the bigger number on top and subtract

4 Tidy sum flip over a card if it is less than the sum put the card on top flip over the cards until you find the missing number Roll, Make, Expand roll two dice to make a double digit number draw ten sticks and ones write the expanded addition problem Mystery number solve the problems color in the square that matched the answer for each problem Even & Odd Tally roll the dice mark a tally in the even box if the number is even mark a tally in the odd box if the number is odd

5 Dice tally put a tally mark in the box that matches the number you rolled when you are done, write the number you rolled the most Domino Addition grab a domino write out the problem solve the problem Race to 100 roll one dice roll it again add the numbers together fill in the chart as you go roll and add as fast as you can Domino Subtraction grab a domino write out the problem remember to put the big number first solve the problem

6 LEGO TOWERS create math facts by making a Lego tower have a friend write the problem on a dry erase board see if you can come up with a different problem using the same tower Kaboom! pull out a stick solve the problem keep it if you get it right if you pull a kaboom stick take the sticks of another player the player with the most sticks wins Time Match place the cards face down grab a domino turn over one card write out the problem turn over a 2nd card Remember turn over to a put 3 rd card the big if they number match, first keep them if not, solve it s your the partner s problem turn five o clock What Time Is It? work with a partner create a time on the digital clock your partner creates the same time on the analog clock check with your partner to see if you agree switch

7 Pattern Block fun use the blocks to create a picture on the page Fact Fluency grab a ring of cards practice saying the answers as quickly as you can Doubles, Doubles roll the dice take the number and add it to itself for a challenge roll two dice and add them, then double the sum Bump It! roll the dice add or subtract the numbers depending on the game board you are using place a counter on the answer if a player s counter is already there bump it off. If your counter is there stack another on top to FREEZE the spot

8 Money Match place the cards face down turn over one card turn over a 2nd card if they match, keep them if not, it s your partner s turn to the store grab a jar of coins pick a shopping card count out the money to buy the items on the page check your work Subtraction Action roll two dice and write the number on the 1 st line roll one dice and write the number on the 2 nd line solve the problem Tell a story write a story problem give it to a friend to solve grade your friends work

9 Measuring Up! choose a measuring tool grab a Measuring Up mat measure items found around the classroom record your results Shape Match place the cards face down turn over one card turn over a 2nd card if they match, keep them if not, it s your partner s turn
