1 SEDC's 3rd Annual VideoVoltageAwards This year is flying past, but there's still time to enter our 2015 Video Voltage Awards. It's time to get a little creative, laugh a little, maybe show us your dramatic side, and best of all win cash prizes that can be used for anything you choose: an employee party, a treadmill for your break room (yes, it's been done!), or charitable contributions within your local community. There's $10, in prizes, but you have to enter to win. What are you waiting for? You DON'T HAVE TO BE a world famous CINEMATOGRAPHER to ENTER and WIN. The only requirements are a desire to have fun and, of course, a little competitive spirit. THIS YEAR'S THEME: A Day in the Life of Our Utility...If We Didn't Have SEDC We hear all the time that SEDC's software has made a difference - whether it's our Mobile Workforce tools, our Work Management module, the Mobile Apps, or even our Billing Ledger Inquiry. Now tell us what your day would be like if you didn't have these tools! What if your field crews didn't have their laptops? What if your customers couldn't pay online? 2 How to Participate Create a short video (three minutes or less) showing how your utility would be affected if you didn't use the SEDC software suite or a specific SEDC product. You may also include Arista Information Systems, Inc. and/or Futura Systems, Inc. as desired. Each utility may enter up to two videos and each video may win multiple prizes (based on the results of SEDC Employee voting). You must incorporate the SEDC logo at least once. Submit your entry/entries and release forms beginning October 19, 2015, through November 20, (See Rules and Guidelines below for submission and release details.) Help select the first, second, and third place winners by voting for your favorite from Monday, November 23, 2015, through Friday, December 4, Anyone can vote! Rally your community to support your video. Do you have a local charity in mind for the winnings? Promote your entry on your Facebook page. Tweet it out - ask your followers to vote for you. The more people you get to vote, the better your chance to bring the money home to your community. SEDC employees will select winners in the following categories: Best Dramatic Performance; Best Performance by a Field Crew or Crew Member; Best Cameo by a GM/CEO; Best Flash Mob Dance or Performance; Best VideoScribe/Animated Video; Best Product Placement of the SEDC Brand. Videos can win more than once. Rules and Guidelines Participants must be current users of SEDC utility enterprise software. Each utility can submit up to two (2) entries. Videos must be less than three (3) minutes in length and must be submitted in one of the following formats: QuickTime/MOV, WMV, MPEG, or AVI. The recommended minimum dimensions are 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels high. Winners of the First, Second, and Third Place prizes will be determined solely based on the number of votes cast on the contest site. The message of the video should be both creative and positive. There should be no derogatory material in the video toward any individual, group, or product. Any item submitted that is deemed derogatory will be disqualified. The video must incorporate SEDC products, support or sales being spoken of and/or the SEDC logo being shown. The video may also include the same for SEDC's subsidiaries, Arista Information Systems, Inc. and Futura Systems, Inc. The video should not contain any advertisements or endorsements of any kind and must not infringe on any thirdparty rights. All entries must be uploaded to SEDC's Video Contest page at in order to be eligible for voting. Uploads will be accepted from Monday, October 19, 2015, until Friday, November 20, Every participant in the video and the utility's General Manager/CEO must have signed the SEDC Publicity Release Form (see page 4). Fax the completed form to Attn: Video Contest at or scan and the form to news@sedata.com. Video(s) and release forms are due by 11:59 PM EST on November 20, Late entries will not be accepted. The video must be original work and not previously submitted for any contest or event. Upon entry into the contest, the video becomes the sole property of Southeastern Data Cooperative, Inc. (SEDC). The judges' decisions and voting outcomes are final. Winners must provide copies of the original video files to receive cash award. Prizes will be distributed to the General Manager/CEO at each winning utility. For a few FAQs, please refer to the following page.

3 FAQs 1. Who should enter the contest? The contest is open to SEDC member utilities. Each entry must be endorsed by the utility's General Manager/CEO. 2. Is there a charge to enter the contest? No. The contest is free to enter! 3. What is the goal of the video contest? The goal of the 2015 SEDC Video Contest is to give our utility members an opportunity to showcase their creativity and share creative and positive ways that SEDC's enterprise utility software has helped save time, improved their bottom line, increased productivity, or had a positive impact on their communities and/or the environment. 4. How long should our video be? Videos can be a maximum of three (3) minutes long. 5. Can we submit more than one video? Yes! Each utility can submit up to two (2) videos. 6. What formats will you accept? Your video must be submitted as a QuickTime/MOV, WMV, MPEG, or AVI. 7. Can we make our video on a smart phone or other device? Yes. As long as your video adheres to the length and file type requirements, you can make your video using a smart phone, tablet, camera, or other device. Minimum recommended dimensions are 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels high. 8. We aren't video professionals. Can we still enter? Of course! You don't have to be a professional to be creative. 9. Are there any restrictions regarding the video? The videos should not contain any advertisements or endorsements of any kind and must not infringe on any third-party rights. Videos should not violate rights or endanger any people or animals; and, where applicable, should show proper utility safety practices. 10. What happens to our video once it's submitted? All videos become the property of SEDC. All submissions will be reviewed to ensure it does not contain derogatory material toward any individual, group, or product. Finalists in the Most Creative, Best Comedy, and Best Drama categories will be posted for voting by all SEDC member utilities. A committee of SEDC employees will also judge all videos and award prizes to the utilities that produce our staff favorites. 11. What is the deadline for submission? The deadline for submission is 11:59 PM EST on November 20, When does voting begin? SEDC member utilities, their employees, family members, friends, relatives, firemen, grocery clerks, bank tellers, and anyone else they can rally to their side can begin voting on Monday, November 23, When does voting end? Voting ends at 11:59 PM EST, December 4, Are there any restrictions regarding the prize money? No. Your utility decides how to use the prize money. Some cool ideas are a holiday party, employee recognition, or charitable donation. 15. Who should be in our video? Anyone you choose! Just make sure that each person signs the SEDC Publicity Release Form (see page 4).

4 Publicity Release Form I hereby authorize and grant permission to Southeastern Data Cooperative, Inc. ( SEDC ), and any of its subsidiaries and/or authorized agents the following rights: To take or accept any video or other media that may contain my likeness (the Video ), To take, record, publish or obtain testimonials or other statements from me (the Statements ), and To use, copy, modify, adapt, distribute, publish, display, exhibit and otherwise use, either in whole or in part, the Video or Statements for commercial or business purposes in one or more film, videotape, or multimedia productions; and/or on SEDC s website or YouTube channel; and/or in any educational, advertising, marketing and promotional materials. I understand and agree that the Video may or may not contain attributions specifically identifying me. SEDC shall have the right to modify, reproduce, display or otherwise disseminate the Video and/or Statements, in whole or in part, provided any modifications or alterations made to such Video and/or Statements do not significantly alter or misrepresent the original content. I hereby release and discharge SEDC, its employees, agents, successors, licensees and assigns from any and all claims I might have in connection with SEDC s use, display, dissemination or exploitation of the Video and/or Statements, including, but not limited to, any claims for defamation; violation of any moral or artist rights; and/or any right of privacy or publicity. I agree that SEDC has complete ownership of such Video and/or Statements, including the entire copyright, and may use them for any purpose consistent with SEDC s mission. I further acknowledge that I will receive no compensation from SEDC other than any goodwill and publicity that I may receive relating to the publication, distribution or other use of the Video and/or Statements as set forth in this Release.
