1 By entering the Wilderness Moments competition you agree to these terms and conditions: In Short The Wilderness Moment photo competition is open to all Wilderness Safaris guests and staff who have travelled to Wilderness Safaris camps in the last 35 years. Only images photographed at a current or past Wilderness Safaris camps will be accepted. Important Dates: Entries open 01 September 2018 Entries close 30 September 2018 Winners will be announced early November 2018 Photos must be at least 1280 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 800 pixels tall (if a vertical image) without borders or frames, watermarks or other markings that identify the photographer. File size no more than five (5) megabytes (mb) Three Categories: Best Wildlife Photo Best Wilderness/Landscape Photo Travel with Purpose: Story with Imagery Judging Criteria Scoring (main categories): Technical proficiency of image. Artistic impression and composition of image. Uniqueness or relevance of species, sighting or landscape captured. Ethical integrity applied in capturing image (no fauna or flora was unnecessarily disturbed, or put at risk.) Overall impact of image.

2 Full Rules & Guidelines Who is eligible? Guest Competition: The Wilderness Moments Photographic Competition is open to all professional and amateur photographers who have travelled to Wilderness Safaris camps in the last 35 years. Staff Competition: The Wilderness Moments Photographic Competition is open to all current Wilderness Safaris staff members. Who is NOT eligible? Past Entries: Images that made it into the Top 10 (People s Choice) may not enter the 2018 photo competition. Guest Competition: Staff members (past or present), any past or present board members, and all past and present professional photographers employed by Wilderness, whether permanently or contractually, shall not be eligible to enter the Guest competition. This also applies to the immediate family members of the above mentioned. An exception will be made to past staff members who travelled as a private guide or in their personal capacity to our camps after the left the employment of Wilderness Safaris. Entrants can be asked to provide proof that the images was not photographed during their employment period. Staff Competition: Any staff currently NOT permanently employed by Wilderness Safaris, current and past professional photographers employed on a permanent and contractual basis by Wilderness Safaris. How to enter? All entrants need to fill in the entry form with their first photo upload. Entrants must agree to these rules by checking the appropriate box. Each photo must be entered for one of the listed categories (see below). Each entrant will be limited to 5 entries in total. Photographers may enter all images in a single category or select different categories for different photos. Photos may be colour or black and white. Entrants do not need to upload all photos at once but may return to at any time to enter more photos. Guest Competition: The Wilderness Moments Photographic Competition is open to all professional and amateur photographers who have travelled to Wilderness Safaris camps in the last 35 years. Staff Competition: The Wilderness Moments Photographic Competition is open to all current Wilderness Safaris staff members. Competition period and winner announcement The Wilderness Moments Photographic Competition opens at 12:01 am Central Africa Time (CAT) on 01 September 2018 and the final date for submission is 30 September 2018, at 11:59 pm Local Time. To avoid any possible uploading delays, do not wait until the final day of the competition to enter. We would like to avoid a large number of entrants trying to upload their photos just prior to the final deadline causing possible technical glitches. People s Choice winners: The top entries from the five categories will be put to a public vote from 15 October to 30 October. Wilderness Safaris will notify winners early in November Wilderness Safaris reserves the right to amend the competition entry period.

3 Prizes: Terms & Conidtions The prizes are for two people sharing at their choice of a Classic (excluding Hoanib Skeleton Coast and Serra Cafema Camp) or Adventures camps in Botswana, Namibia, Zambia or Zimbabwe. Wilderness Air charters into/out of camp flights included but not regional or international flights. PLEASE NOTE: light aircraft transfers and accommodation are subject to other full paying guests on the same transfers and in camp at the same time. The prize is valid for travel from 01 December 2018 through to 31 May 2020 but excludes travel between 15 July 2019 and 15 October 2019, 20 December 2018 and 11 January 2019, 20 December 2019 and 11 January 2020 and any other public holidays that fall within this period. The prize is subject to availability at the time of booking and is not transferable or redeemable for cash. Terms and conditions apply. Please note that this voucher may not be used in conjunction with any other promotion, existing bookings and the validity period may not be extended. All international and regional scheduled commercial flights, insurances and any other items of a personal nature are excluded. Travel with Purpose Travel with Purpose itineraries are limited to Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe and are set for specific departure dates. For an itinerary to depart, a minimum of four seats need to be confirmed Wilderness Safaris Photo entry information All photos must have complete information. This must include a photo title, category, caption or description, camp visited, date photographed and Wilderness Safaris camp guide (optional). Only images photographed at a current and past Wilderness Safaris camps will be accepted. Judging Criteria A panel of photography experts will select images based upon: Technical proficiency of image. Artistic impression and composition of image. Uniqueness or relevance of species, sighting or landscape captured. Ethical integrity applied in capturing image (no fauna or flora was unnecessarily disturbed or put at risk.) Overall impact of image. Judges will assess entries and a shortlist will be announced following the closing date. All those on the shortlist may be contacted and will then have approximately 12 days to supply a high-resolution image file (RAW or DNG preferred but JPEGs also accepted). Failure to produce a high-resolution file within the designated time period may disqualify entry. The organisers cannot be held responsible for s not received due to the entrant s security settings or restrictions placed by their Internet service provider. The shortlisted entries will be entered into the People s Choice category where members of the public can vote for their favourite entry from 15 October 2018 to 30 October The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The winner of the Travel with Purpose Story with Imagery category will be judged less on the technical proficiency of imagery, but more on the combination of the image and accompanying story/blog, describing how the entrant has been part of the Wilderness Safaris journey, how a journey with Wilderness Safaris changed the entrant s life, or how the entrant has seen someone else s life changed by Wilderness Safaris. We also welcome entries dating back to the early days of Wilderness Safaris. The older the photo, the better.

4 Technical Requirements Only digitally uploaded images can be entered. Mailed or shipped entries will not be accepted. Entrants encountering technical problems while uploading may request help here. Digital images or scans of film slides or prints must be uploaded as jpg. Photos must be at least 1280 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 800 pixels tall (if a vertical image). Larger images are acceptable and may improve your photo s quality. There is a maximum file size of five megabytes (mb) per image. Images should be in RGB or srgb format. No borders or frames, watermarks or other markings that identify the photographer will be allowed. Photos will be protected on the website with the right-clicking function removed. All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Photos that have been digitally manipulated beyond typical workflow enhancement will be automatically disqualified. Examples of acceptable enhancements include: Adjustments to colour, contrast, brightness and sharpness Removal of sensor dust spots and scratches on film slides Cropping Black-and-white conversions Use of HDR (High Dynamic Range), where multiple exposures of the same scene are blended for a wider tonal range, or similar processes to depict extended depth of field. Examples of unacceptable image enhancements include: Photo composites (combination of two or more photos, not of the same scene) Addition, duplication, deletion or moving of any objects in the photo The use of post-processing digital filters and effects. Examples include watercolour, neon glow, posterizing, stained glass, and others which alter the original scene Photographic ethics Only images obtained in the wild or within a community under natural conditions and in an ethical manner that places the welfare of wildlife and people/community above the photographer s desire to obtain an image. Photographers should make every effort to avoid any action that might interfere with natural wildlife behaviour. Contest entrants must not submit images that involve the wilful harassment of wildlife or people or damage to the environment. The judges can request the circumstances of how a photograph was obtained so they can make an informed judgment about publication and disclosure in captioning. Entry Fee No entry fee is applicable. Copyright and permission By submitting images to the Wilderness Moments Photo Competition website each entrant confirms and warrants that: they are the sole author of each entry and that it is their original work; they own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image; they have the permission of anyone pictured in the image (or, where the image shows any persons under 18, the consent of their parent/guardian) for the usage rights required by Wilderness Safaris and will indemnify Wilderness Safaris against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement; they have not licensed or disposed of any rights in the image that would conflict with uses to be made by Wilderness Safaris; and they have received any necessary permissions from the owner(s) of objects including buildings included in submitted images for the usage rights required by Wilderness Safaris and will indemnify Wilderness Safaris against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement

5 Every participant hereby agrees and irrevocably permits Wilderness Safaris to use the images submitted to this competition in publications, marketing material, social media and printed media at the sole and absolute discretion of Wilderness Safaris. The participants further agree that Wilderness Safaris may also use the life changing stories submitted by participants in any publications, marketing material or social media, and shall do so anonymously unless specific permissions was obtained before such publication. Binding Agreement In order to enter the Wilderness Moments competition, entrants must agree to these Official Rules ( Rules ). Because these Rules form a legally binding agreement with respect to this Contest, please read them carefully. If Entrant does not agree to the Rules, Entrant is not eligible to participate in the Wilderness Safaris Photos Competition or to win any of the prizes. Entrant agrees that his/her registration as an individual participant under the Wilderness Safaris Photos Competition constitutes his/her agreement to these Rules. Intellectual Property: Entrants retain ownership and all other rights to future use of the photographs they enter except for the following: your entry to the contest constitutes your agreement to allow your entered photographs and your name, country of residence and photo information to be published as Winners or Honourable Mentions on the Wilderness Safaris websites and social media platforms, and you grant to Wilderness Safaris and its licensees the perpetual, worldwide non-exclusive license to reproduce, distribute, display and create derivative works of the entry (along with a name credit) in connection with the Wilderness Moments Competition and promotion for the Wilderness Safaris Photo Competition, in any media now or hereafter known Images used on merchandise commissioned by the organisers will be discussed individually with the photographer concerned and a separate agreement made. Deliberate acts: Any attempt by an entrant or other individual to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Wilderness Safaris Photo Competition is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Wilderness Safaris, its affiliated organizations, and each of their directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents and representatives (hereinafter the Companies ) reserve the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. Force Majeur If, for any reason, Wilderness Safaris is not capable of completion as planned, including, but not limited to, by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Companies that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Wilderness Safaris, the Companies reserve the right at their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Wilderness Moments Competition. Warranty: By entering, participants warrant that his or her entry materials are original, do not infringe on any third party s rights, and that participant has obtained any necessary permissions from any third party if a third party or third party s property appears in the photograph. Wilderness Safaris reserves the right to disqualify any entry if it finds in its sole discretion that any of the foregoing warranties are not true. Decisions of Wilderness Safaris shall be final and binding. Intellectual Property: By entering, participants release and hold the Companies from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, claim, action, demand or damage of any kind arising from or related to the Wilderness Safaris Photo Competition, any prize won, any use of the entry materials by NWF, the warranties participants make, any misuse or malfunction of any prize awarded, participation in any NWPC-related activity, or participation in the Wilderness Safaris Photo Competition.

6 Privacy Policy: By providing Entrant s personal information, such as address, phone number, or at time of entry, Entrant understands that Wilderness Safaris may use such information to communicate with Entrant for the purposes of administering the Wilderness Safaris and complying with applicable laws, regulations and rules. Information collected via the entry form will be used to send Entrant further communications from Wilderness Safari regarding services, incentives, offers, promotions, or other messaging related to Wilderness Safaris mission. Limitation of Liability: In no event will the Companies, their advertising and promotional agencies, or their directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents and representatives be responsible or liable for any damages or losses of any kind, including direct indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising out of participant s access to and use of the Companies websites, or the downloading or uploading and/or printing of material from said sites. Without limiting the foregoing, everything on the Companies sites is provided as is without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. Some jurisdictions may not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so some of the foregoing limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. Check your local laws for any restrictions or limitations regarding these limitations or exclusions. Wilderness Safaris is not responsible for lost, damaged, late or misdirected photographs, or for uploading connections, garbled transmissions, unauthorized intervention or technical malfunctions. Void where prohibited. The Companies are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Wilderness Safaris Photo Competition, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of submissions to the Wilderness Safaris Photo Competition, including but not limited to any misprints or typographical errors. The Companies assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, photographs. The Companies are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer equipment, servers, providers, computer on-line systems, software, or failure of on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, including injury or damage to participant s or to any other person s computer related to or resulting from participating or uploading images or information in the Wilderness Safaris Photo Competition.
