Sheetite allows you to benefit from the technological and economic advantages of fastening directly into sheet metals. Quality increase Using Sheetite ensures that work steps such as thread cutting can be eliminated and additional securing elements are not needed when it comes to joining sheet metal applications. The fastener is directly screwed into a metal rim hole or a predrilled metal sheet using existing systems and equipment. The polygonal cross-section in the thread-forming section of the screw shank ensures that the metric thread is chiplessly formed, so that it can accept a conventional threaded screw, if repair is needed. The screw shank has a round cross-section in the load-bearing part which leads to an improved load-bearing capacity. The rounded tip does not only help to better fi nd the hole in case of axial and angular offset, but also to protect product components in the installation space. In addition, the risk of injury is reduced both during assembly and in assembled state. There are also important quality advantages: easier positioning of the screw, low rolling torque and a high degree of security against overload. 3 . STRONG EVEN IN VERY THIN SHEET METALS. Sheetite is designed to connect two or more plate-shaped components placed one on top of the other. This composite consists of at least an upper clamping part with a clearance hole and a lower pre-drilled screw-in part with or without a rim hole. Using Sheetite you can minimize the thicknesses of the metal sheets used. Safely joining several thin metal sheets with a total thickness of 0.5 times the nominal diameter or less Sheetite makes it possible. In this way, the weight of the final product and also material costs can be reduced.. IN SHEET METAL APPLICATIONS. Result Sheetite allows the usage in easily created clearance holes. This means that during the process metric bearing threads are formed by chipless material displacement. Screw fastening process in thin sheet metals Sheetite screws are used in pre-drilled sheet metals (clearance holes and rim holes) by applying a simple screw-in method which results in creating a metric thread. The special shape of the Sheetite screw ensures that there is a high delta between driving torque and overturn torque. Due to the flexible dimensioning of the prehole diameter in the screw-in part, the anticipated process and installation parameters can be optimally adapted to the respective application.
