5 INTRODUCTION Based just south of Bristol and serving the whole of the UK, David Salisbury is a precision joinery company manufacturing a full range of windows, doors and glazed extensions. Our purpose-built factory can respond to the demands of volume production as well as individual bespoke commissions. Our portfolio extends to all manner of shapes, curves, arches, domes and specialist fenestration, and we have completed many heritage projects for listed buildings and conservation areas. Our customised joinery and range of profiles help to satisfy the requirements of conservation officers even on more sensitive buildings. We serve architects, developers, business owners and construction industry professionals looking for the best quality timber joinery. We can provide design advice and technical assistance as well as producing comprehensive quotations and detailed drawings where required. Options for complex fenestration, and curved or raked frames make our product range both versatile and comprehensive. Our range of sliding sash windows covers both traditional lead weights and spiral balances. Options include semi-circular heads and bow-fronted windows. Accessories Window boards, external sills and a range of trims and accessories are available for all window types. Pre-machined grooves can be incorporated to simplify fitting and improve the finish. This Grade II listed building required extensive negotiations with the conservation officer to agree on fine details. 9

Adjustable rebates Glazing rebates can be varied in width and depth, allowing for accommodation of slim-line units as well as single and triple glazing. Multipoint locking Shoot bolt locking, high security espagnolettes and lockable night-vent positions are available for most designs. 18 ROOF LANTERNS Using 3D modelling and 5 axis robotic routing, any geometry is achievable. The accuracy of machining and factory finishing makes installation a quick and simple operation. All roofs are underwritten by a structural engineer. Where possible concealed steel brackets are used to avoid visible tie bars. 18 ROOF LANTERNS

Roof vents Single, double, or triple roof vents can be operated manually, or automatically with a thermostat and rain sensor.

Unique slotted dovetails and pre-drilled fixing holes make our roofs the most accurate and the simplest to install.

Unique slotted dovetails and pre-drilled fixing holes make our roofs the most accurate and the simplest to install. All components are engraved with a part number corresponding to the CAD drawing. Glazing Double or triple-glazed units of any glass type or configuration can be incorporated. Glass is retained by the rebated fascia and held in place by an aluminium capping. Maintenance-free cappings, crests and finials can be powder coated in any colour, either to match the timber or contrasting (typically grey). ROOF LANTERNS 19

We believe that 18mm bonded bars give the best compromise between slim elegant lines and good insulation, although we also offer various through bar options for traditional replacements where required by conservation officers. Gothic Double Gothic Triple Gothic Circular Elliptical Bespoke shapes Hardware We offer a range of hardware quality and finishes including a carefully sourced selection of marine grade stainless steel in a satin finish. This is ideal for aggressive environments such as swimming pools and coastal locations. This is the key to the excellent properties of this wood, giving superior durability against both water and insect attack. OAK Quercus Robur Oak is an age-old building material which needs no introduction. With high strength and durability, it can be used for both joinery and structural purposes. We make oak-framed extensions from solid oak and joinery from engineered sections. Oak does not take paint well, but can be oiled or left to weather down to the familiar grey colour prized by many clients. SAPELE Entandrophragma Cylindricum This superior timber is renowned throughout the joinery industry for its hardness, durability and grain characteristics. We buy sapele from sustainable forest sources in West Africa. The orangery is located in the Chelsea Gardener, a well-known garden centre in London s Sydney Street, just off the King s Road, and is easily accessible by public transport. There is also a public car park within 50 yards. The dome is the central focus and is enhanced by independently operated motorised blinds. Two small roof lanterns balance the dome and full-height sliding sash windows are set off by three sets of doors, all with Georgian bar fenestration.
