Rod ends, miniature nickel silver Our rod ends are made of 792 Nickle-Silver, which is actually a Copper/Nickle alloy. The ball is 316 stainless, with a 2mm thru hole. The body is internally threaded with an M3x.5 thread, The rod ends are specially lapped to eliminate ball backlash, and may require additional lapping dependent on the use to which they are put to achieve optimum fit. Part # Thermowells, custom We have made tens of thousands of custom thermowells for various customers, and we can help you design one for your special purpose in various materials from aluminum to plastic. In general, thermowells are used with temperature sensing devices, isolating the sensor from fluid or gas, possibly made of a good heat conductor such as brass or aluminum. Stainless is often used in demanding environments, though it is a poor heat conductor. In that case the material in contact with the chemical environment is thin to lessen heat transfer time.
