Roller Blinds Noisy Spring Fit collar or use smaller spring (centre) Fabric rolls to one side Limit stop (joiner) Reverse roll fabric Blind too wide cut back roller Extending width Cut back spring (very short width blinds) Removing creasing from fabric Place 300mm length of tape or fabric packing on the side fabric is telescoping towards. Roll blind down. On back chain place joiner on call cord just below chain drive spool. Unroll fabric and remove both spring an idle ends from tube. Re-fit in the oppose ends of the tube. Roll fabric up so the fabric rolls from the front of the tube. Unroll fabric and remove masking tape. Slide fabric towards the spring end. Slide fabric towards the spring end. Remove the idle end and trim tube to desired length with jewellers snips. Re-fit idle end, even fabric up on tube and re-stick masking tape. Roll fabric back around tube. Wrap masking tape around spring an idle end shaft and re-fit. This will prevent spring and idle end going all the way in. Separate spring form end. Cut shaft. Cut spring then re-assemble (only when necessary). Use a hair dryer on medium setting to warm fabric. Deluxe Chain Drive black/white brackets Fitting build out side guides (helpful installation hint) Scrape paint off each bracket where pins fit otherwise very tight fit. 1. don t over tighten screws. 6g countersunk should be ok. 2. Notch out top 5 to 10mm of channel so it does not interfere with headbox, this seems to make it clip in easier. 3. Try placing a piece of timber over the channel and hit the timber to clip/lock the channel into the inner mounting channel. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 4 OF 22

Vertical Blinds Adjusting drop 1. Reverse blade carrier, reduces drop by 3mm. 2. Use flat clips, raises blind by 2-3mm Light gaps on closure Steam pockets flat (steamer/hairdryer/iron) Blade will not rotate Re-cord Pelmet returns wrong 1. Try replacing pin. 2. Replace slat traveller. This will require stripping track down, usually in the factory. Go to knot-pull-down, separate cords and cut off one side. Weld new cord to existing using lighter and pull cord through. Cut down with tin snips cover cut with end cover strip. Shorten cord Cut back Headrail One Way - Pull knot down re-knot in shortened position. Two Way - Pull knot out. Pull one cord (the one that moves weight upwards) cut and re-knot. Remove speed nut from idle end. Pull back tilt rod. Remove carefully, cords still attached. Cut back headrail by no more than 10mm, re-assemble, put new speed nut on tilt shaft. 6 DUETTE Shades / Pleated Blinds Not pulling up and locking off Adjusting level Cut outs Pleated loss of pleat Cord has jumped over guide in cordlock. What do you do to fix it? - Pull out cordlock from headrail exposing the cords, readjust cords. Use cords in cord equaliser or if more adjustment required remove bottom rail cap, slide out fabric, undo know in cord and adjust then re tie knot. Remove bottom rail end cap, cut back bottom rail with hacksaw to desired length, then cut fabric cut out with sharp scissors, re-fit end caps to bottom rail. Must be pulled up twice a week to hold pleat memory. EasyRise noisy when pulled up Rod is bent, replace rod. EasyRise bottom rail not going up straight. Pull down on bottom rail as raising blind. This will prevent tape from not rolling flat. Difficulty fitting EasyRise headrail to brackets Brackets not level. Re-align brackets. Standard installation brackets in a small reveal Remove wedge screw from bracket and replace with longer screw which will go right through bracket into reveal. 7 DUETTE PowerRise PowerRise not operating After checking batteries, on a 3 cord blind, tension middle cord, as a loose tension on the middle cord can activate the stop mechanism. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 7 OF 22

DUETTE Skylight Full frame skylite ON FACE Skylite - Removal of bottom rail Skylite screwing Drill a 3mm hole through both frames, drill a 10mm holes through 25mm frame only. Place screw and screwdriver through large hole into 3mm hole and screw the 16mm frame side onto the face. Cover up large hole with 25mm V/B slate (previously ordered) Remove spring and cords from bottom rail. Cut cords in headrail and relocate spring into headrail. Tie bottom cords off to a screw at bottom of side channels. Fit cord under washer. This stops any screwing. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 8 OF 22

DUETTE Vertiglide Fabric not hanging straight Elongated hole - Remove fabric carrier bearing and fit it to the next cell. Moving rail is not square Adjust angle with adjusting screw in or out to square up. Moving rail not running freely Screw on handle fouling cord. Moving rail bar Wheel needs to be fitted in back hole. 10 SILHOUETTE Shadings Cords/ Control slides need to be changed Remove screws from either end. Remove ends carefully and change over. Ends can be temperamental. Telescoping fabric Box mount 1. See instructions on bottom rail. 2. Check if installed level. 3. Move limit stop on headrail, the one closest to which the fabric is moving to, towards the centre by 25mm approx. Repeat if necessary. Drill through top of headrail if not enough room. Pre-drill and a 2 man job. SILHOUETTE Shadings Adjust the limit stops to prevent tracking. a. If unable to correct the tracking (telescoping) of fabric by adjusting the bottom rail weight bar, adjustment of your limit stop may fix the problem. b. Roll fabric up to position where it starts to track. c. Adjust the tension on the limit stops, either add tension or decrease. d. Roll the blind down and up to check the tracking, and repeat till fabric rolls true. This process should only be tried after adjustment is made on the bottom rail, and fabric is still tracking to one side. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 10 OF 22

LUMINETTE Privacy Sheers PROBLEM Operation of SofTrak system is stiff. Fabric carriers do not traverse smoothly along rod. Wand is hard to turn. Vanes are difficult to rotate. Cord tension is incorrect. Wand does not hang straight or cord is too loose. One or more fabric vanes are misaligned. One or more fabric vanes are not hanging straight. Pinion clip on fabric carrier is broken; will not hold vane. End treatment and/or nearby vanes do not hang straight. End treatment is disengaged. Fabric is hitting the floor. Side Stack Only: End treatment arm does not swing around the end cap. Side Stack Only: End cap cover is missing or broken. Split Stack Only: Panels do not meet in the centre. SOLUTION Tilt vanes to open position before traversing. Check that the cord is not caught in the installation brackets. Make sure the brackets are level. Check scissors for disconnected or broken sections. (Refer Detail A). Replace and lubricate gears. (Refer Detail B). Raise or lower cord tether to adjust cord tension. (Refer Detail C). Use the auto-align feature. (Refer Detail D). Check that vanes are not hitting obstructions. Replace protruding widow cranks with T-cranks. Make sure the vane is properly inserted into pinion clip of fabric carrier. Replace the broken pinion clip. (Refer Detail E). Adjust end treatment height. (Refer Detail F). Refasten end treatment swivel plate to rivet. (Refer Detail G). Replace bent or missing rivet. (Refer Detail H). Replace broken end treatment swivel plate. (Refer Detail I). Raise installation brackets. Check that the spring on the adjustment screw is engaged. (Refer Detail J). Replace end cap cover by snapping it over the non-control end. Round the lead vanes on both panels to form a tubular shape. (Refer Detail K). REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 11 OF 22

Detail A - Check scissors for disconnected or broken sections. If any of the scissors have become disconnected, simply snap them back together. Female sections snap on top of male sections. Alternating centre male/female connections snap onto the pin on top of the fabric carriers, as shown. If any of the sections are broken, replace them with parts included in the Installers Kit. To remove the scissors from a fabric carrier, slip the flat blade of a small screwdriver between the fabric carrier and the male scissor, and gently twist to pry the scissors upwards. Important: Be careful not to break the pin from the fabric carrier! To separate male and female scissors, again use the screwdriver blade to gently pry them apart. If a new section is at either end of the track, trim its excess length to match the replaced part. This avoids interference with the end cap. Detail B - Replace and lubricate gears. First, with the vanes open, remove the wand and hook from the worm gear shaft. Slide the wand cover up over the hook so that the wand can be released from the hook. Slide the cover off the hook and remove the hook from the worm gear shaft. Then remove the active end cap cover and the gears. Remove the active end cap cover by prying up under the tab, as shown in the illustration below. To remove the gears, push up on the bottom of the worm gear, then pull out the tilt drive gear. Apply a small amount of thick white lubricant, such as white lithium grease, to all the threads of the new worm gear. Do not get any grease on the cord. Reverse the disassembly procedure to replace the gears and re-install the wand. Be sure the cord is not twisted when attaching the wand. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 12 OF 22

Detail C - Raise or lower cord tether to adjust cord tension. To adjust cord tension: Remove the cord tether by holding the wand firmly against a flat surface and pulling the bottom of the cords away from the wand. Gradually increase the pulling force until the cord tether cover pops off. Important: Removing the cord tether cover requires very strong force. Use caution to avoid personal injury or damage to the wand. Note: If the cord tether cover has an access hole in it, it is not necessary to remove the cover to perform this adjustment. Using a 0.50 hex key, loosen the set screw in the wand lock. Raise the tether to decrease tension (to correct for a wand that does not hang straight) or lower the tether to increase tension (to correct for a loose cord). Tighten the set screw and check the adjustment before replacing the cord tether cover. Be careful not to pinch the cord loop with the cover. Detail D - Use the auto-align feature. If one or more vanes become misaligned, the problem can easily be corrected. Using the wand, first rotate the vanes all the way to one side and then all the way to the other. The vane(s) will automatically realign. Detail E - Replace the broken pinion clip. Remove the broken pinion clip from the fabric carrier. Place your thumb firmly on the fabric carrier and top part of the pinion clip, then pull on the lower part of the pinion clip with your forefinger until the clip snaps out. Install a new pinion clip. Orient the pinion clip with its long tooth facing away from the opening in the fabric carrier. Push it into the fabric carrier until it snaps in place. Manually rotate the pinion clip until it exactly aligns with the other, or use the auto-align feature described in Detail D. Detail F - Adjust end treatment height. To adjust the end treatment height: Separate the Velcro attachment between the end treatment swivel plate and the end treatment. Reposition the end treatment on the swivel plate. Typically, the top of the end treatment should be approximately 3mm above the top of the swivel plate. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 13 OF 22

Detail G - Refasten end treatment swivel plate to rivet. To refasten the end treatment swivel plate: Raise the rivet about 10mm to attach the upper and lower pairs of end treatment clips. Snap the clips onto the top and bottom of the rivet, as shown. Detail H - Replace bent or missing rivet. If the rivet is bent: Use snips to cut the rivet and pull out the two halves. To replace the rivet: Drop the new rivet into the hole in the swivel arm. Using needle nose pliers, pinch the bottom of the rivet to hold it in place. Attach the end treatment swivel plate, as described in Detail G. Detail I - Replace broken end treatment swivel plate. If the Velcro attachment method is not used, retrofit the sheer: Use a small flat blade screwdriver to pry the end treatment swivel plate from the universal end treatment plate, which is located inside the fabric end treatment. Remove the universal end treatment plate. Be sure the replacement end treatment swivel plate with Velcro matches the one being replaced - they are left and right specific. Remove the Velcro strip with the back on on it from the Velcro strip adhered to the replacement swivel plate. Peel off the backing. Adhere the strip over the four holes on the end treatment, pressing it firmly in place. Attach the end treatment swivel plate to the rivet, as described in Detail G. Attach the end treatment to the swivel plate, as described in Detail F. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 14 OF 22

Detail J - Check that the spring on the adjustment screw is engaged. To check that the lead carrier swivel arm is engaged (side stack units only): With the sheer drawn closed, pull the end of the swivel arm slightly away from the passive end cap cover. If there was no spring tension, seat the spring or replace it if necessary. Turn the adjustment screw counter clockwise to raise the swivel arm for enough to release the spring from between the swivel arm hinges. If the screw is broken, replace it. To correctly seat the spring, position it between the hinges so that its straight end is against the notch in the swivel arm. Tighten the screw just enough to secure the spring. Using the flat blade of a screwdriver, flex the curved leg of the spring toward the straight leg until it hooks on the wall of the carrier body. Then continue to turn the adjustment screw. Important: Do not overtighten the screw. Do not bottom out the swivel arm. Check that the spring is engaged by pulling the end of the swivel arm slightly away from the end cap cover and releasing it. The swivel arm should snap back. Adjust the screw until the clearance between the bottom of the swivel arm and the top of the narrow portion of the slot is approximately 1/8. Detail K - Round the lead vanes to form a tubular shape. Rounding the lead vanes on both fabric panels helps the fabric to meet in the centre. About 305mm below the fabric header, cup the lead vane in your hand to form a C shape, as shown in the illustration below. At the same time, gently pull out on the fabric so that is forms a C shape in the opposite direction. Slide your hand down the full length of the fabric, maintaining the facing C shapes in the vane and fabric. Repeat the procedure on the lead vane of the other fabric channel. Important: Be sure your hands are very clean, or wear clean gloves. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 15 OF 22

PIROUETTE PIROUETTE window shadings Vane Memory/Vanes Not Closing Remedy Instructions When Pirouette window shadings remain with the vanes in the open or contoured position for an extended period of time, those vanes can take a memory and not close completely (light gap between vanes) -as shown to the right. If this does occur, the following steps will reset the fabric to the original condition. 1) Raise the shading 3-5 centimetres from the fully lowered position. 2) Gently pull or tug on the lowest operable vaneall along the width to flatten the vanes to closethe vanes manually. 3) Slowly roll up the shading completely into the headrail while also checking for skew. If the product does skew, gently guide the fabric panel in the opposite direction of the skew. 4) Leave the shading rolled up in the headrail for 8-12 hours. 5) The shading should now be reset and operate as normal. 6) Repeat as necessary. Note: Opening and closing or exercising the vanes a couple of times per week will prevent this condition in most situations. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 16 OF 22
