Make sure both brackets are slipped down all the way in the keyhole slot so that the screw is in the top portion of the keyhole slot. Install a screw in the bottom hole of each bracket. Tighten all screws. 5 Attaching the Brackets Attaching the Brackets 6

Attaching Extension Brackets (Optional) Operating the Shade Optional Extension Brackets are used to project the back of the shade up to 2 3 8" from the mounting surface. This will allow the shade to avoid window cranks, door knobs, etc. when raised and lowered. Attach the Installation Bracket to the Extension Bracket with the nut and bold provided. Nut Bolt Extension Bracket To lower or release the shade, pull the cord inward toward the center of the shade. To raise or lock the shade, pull the cord straight down and outward toward the edge of the shade. Center the shade over the window opening at the desired height. Mark the position of the Extension Bracket on the wall. Make sure the mounting brackets are level. Mount the Extension Brackets to the wall " minimum BREAKTHROUGH CORD CONNECTOR Breakthrough Cord Connector! WARNING To avoid entanlgement and strangulation, keep cords out of the reach of young children. Move cribs and furniture away from blind cords. To further reduce hazards, this shade was built with a cord connector which was designed to break apart when force is applied from the top. Hanging the Shade Unwind the cord from the shade. Rail Bracket No safety system is fail-safe. KEEP CORDS OUT OF REACH OF SMALL CHILDREN! Hold the shade up near the brackets and insert the front clip of the bracket into the front groove of the rail. If your cord connector should happen to break apart, follow the instructions below to reassemble. Center the shade over the window opening at the desired height. Push the rail back and up until the back clips of the bracket are inserted into the back groove of the rail. Push rail back and up until the back clip snaps into the rail. When the connector is open, each side has a cord coming in at the top, one side has a cord coming in from the bottom. Fit the bottom edges together. The side with the cord fits into the side without the cord. Swing the top ends together and press in the middle to fully connet. 7 Attaching Brackets + Hanging the Shade Operating the shade + Breakthrough Cord Connector 8

Operating the Shade Troubleshooting To lower the shade, pull down on the handle which is secured to the middle or bottom rail. To raise the shade, push the middle and/or bottom rail up. The shade will hold at any position when the middle or bottom rail is released. This product should be operated from the center of the middle or bottom rail. Be sure to raise the shade slowly and steadily to allow the shade enough time to stack evenly. To Lower To Lower Shade Will Not Stay Down: The fabric may want to spring up because it was fabricated primarily in the closed position. With clean hands, gently pull down on a section of cells to relax the pleats. (see diagram below) Repeat with another section of cells until the fabric is relaxed. Do not tightly stack the shade for 24 hours. Fabric Billows Out When Shade Is Raised: Fabric can take a set when stretched out for extended periods of time. Raise the shade very slowly to allow the retraction mechanism to overcome the force of the stretched fabric. Use handle when raising and lowering shade for better support and smoother operation. To Raise Gently stretch fabric. Pull evenly on each side. For out-of-reach operations, an optional extension pole should be used. To Lower - Insert hook into slot on handle and pull gently To Raise - Center pole end under bottom rail. 13 Operating the Shade Troubleshooting 14

Hanging the Shade First, lower the middle and bottom rail about an inch. This will help keep the fabric from getting caught between the brackets and the headrail. Position the headrail with the front lip (A) resting on the top hooks of all the brackets. Make sure that no fabric is pinched between the brackets and the headrail. Push the bottom of the headrail firmly upwards and toward the window until the groove at the bottom of the headrail snaps into place, (B) as shown. A Push here upwards and toward the window Operating the Shade Operate the shade by pulling down on the side of the code. The front cord raises the shade, the rear cord lowers the shade. Do not lift the bottom with your hands. Also, be careful not to place objects on the window sill that will interfere with operating the shade or cause it to hang unevenly. Removing the Shade To remove a shade, insert a screwdriver between the headrail and the bottom back of the bracket (tab which extends out slightly from each bracket). Gently pry the screwdriver to release the bracket from the headrail.take care not to damage the painted finish of the headrail. As you release the brackets, support the headrail to keep it from falling. B Insert screwdriver here and gently pry Installing Tension Device The tension device reduces the hazards of strangulation and entanglement of young children and pets by limiting access to the control cord. Please see cord tensioner guide on how to install (included separately). Please read the instructions included in the mounting hardware packet prior to installation. 19 Hanging the Shade + Removing the Shade Operating the Shade + Installing Tension Device 20

Hold Down Brackets (optional) Optional Hold Down Brackets are mounted with the supplied screws. With the shade at its proper drop, place the pin of each Hold Down Bracket into the hole in each end cap and mark the screw holes. Make sure the pins are level and aligned. Raise the shade, then screw the Hold Down Bracket into the mounting surface. Care + Cleaning Minimal care and cleaning is needed to maintain the beauty of your shades. To Vacuum: Use brush or dust head attachment. Occasional light vacuuming with a soft bristle attachment or gentle feather dusting is all that is required to keep your shades looking fresh and neat. To Dust: Use soft, clean cloth. Level the Bottom Rail Standard Rectangular shades use a system that allows easy leveling of the bottom rail. It is designed to make slight adjustments (Less than 1") to level the moving rails of your shade. It is not designed to make length adjustments. Use a flat head screwdriver or a coin (a quarter works best) to turn the adjustment screw in the bottom rail to raise or lower that side of the bottom rail. One quarter turn of the screw will move the bottom rail up or down approximately 1 4". Over-turning the adjustment screw (more than 1" of adjustment) can cause the cord to tangle or wedge inside the rail. The screw should turn easily - DO NOT FORCE. cord cleat Safety Be aware that it is possible for children to strangle in window covering cords. To reduce the occurrence of accidents, all cords must be kept out of the reach of children, including infants. Cord cleats are an effective way to implement this essential precaution. Mount the cord cleat at a safe height, taking into account furniture or other objects upon which a child may climb. Then, after each use of the shade, simply wrap the excess cord around the cleat. It's fast, easy and safe. 14 IMPORTANT! Installing Cordless Shade Handle with Fabric Wrapped Rails To avoid damaging your new window shades, use prescribed installation and operation procedures. Using this method is especially important when attaching handles to shades with fabric wrapped rails, and will ensure that the fabric wrap is not damaged. Carefully determine the placement of handles. For shades 48 wide or under the handle should be placed at the center of the rail. For shades over 48 wide, two handles should be evenly spaced on the rail, as far apart as is comfortable to operate. Attempting to move handles after they have been installed may cause damage to the fabric on the rails. Gently lift the shade fabric out of the way. Hook the handle on the underside of the rail and swing up as shown, until the top of the handle snaps securely in place. If shade is a top down/bottom up, repeat the process for the handle on the middle moving rail. The handle will sit approximately 1/2 above the window sill when the shade is fully lowered. This allows easy access for grasping the handle when raising the shade /14/13
