Oxy-acetylene Arc-eye Exposure to metal fume and other welding gases Hearing damage Oxygen & acetylene gases piped in from outside. Shut off valves and flashback arrestors to both the oxygen and acetylene lines. Appropriate PPE provided. Welders must wear long sleeve overalls, safety boots, welding visor, welding gloves. Gas torches and hoses maintained in good condition. Hoses replaced immediately if damage noticed. Fire Welding Burns All staff Moveable extraction arm. Extraction systems serviced and tested annually. MIG / TIG Arc-eye Individual welding booths with welding curtain to the front. Exposure to metal fume and other welding gases Hearing damage Fire Manual handling injuries Rubber mat on the floor at the user position Appropriate PPE provided. Welders must wear long sleeve overalls, safety boots, welding apron, welding visor, welding gloves. Argon cylinder restrained in the upright position. Cylinder fitted with appropriate regulator. Ensure that each piece of equipment has a lockable isolator to facilitate the lock out.
