2 HST HI-LITE PIN FASTENING SYSTEM This multi-purpose HI-LITE pin features a superior lightweight fastening system for clearance and interference fit holes in composite, hybrid and metallic applications. HI-LITE REDUCED TRANSITION AREA (COUNTER BORE) GRIP PLANE HI-LITE PIN HI-LOK PIN The first load bearing thread was moved closer to the pin shank compared to the HI-LOK pin by designing new geometry for the thread run-out transition area. The length of the collar was reduced to match the geometry of the pin. Collar strength was increased. These design changes allow further shortening of pin thread length. HSTR NEW GENERATION HI-LITE PIN FASTENING SYSTEM ASTER Recess Higher torque transmission compared to the hex recess eliminates installation problems in clearance fit applications and especially on composite structures. Compatible with manual or automatic drivers. HI-KOTE 1 NC Coating Non-chromated coating meets the current environmental regulations. HI-KOTE 1 NC Coating is an enhanced coating for Titanium alloy, Nickel-Cobalt alloy and Stainless Steel fasteners providing safety in-process, at assembly and for the environment. It is a direct replacement for HI-KOTE 1 Coating. The ASTER System offers superior performance for one-sided installation of threaded fasteners.

3 OPTIMIZED ASTER RECESS The geometry of the ASTER recess is designed to reduce radial stress in the fastener, providing higher torque transmission, while simultaneously allowing recess depth reduction. Installation issues encountered with the hexagonal recess are resolved without impacting fastener performance.
