3 DEDICATED STR NUT STR60 and STR90 nuts have been especially developed by LISI AEROSPACE to fulfill the STL pins requirements. Their design offers equivalent mechanical performance in comparison with existing steel nuts, while saving weight. 4 SECURE INSTALLATION FRIENDLY INSTALLATION Secure and ergonomic installation through ASTER system Installation noise reduction using electric tools Conventional cylindrical straight hole preparation Unique dimensions per pin diameter code whatever the grip length Installation time saving compared to other sleeved products thanks to unique nut for interference creation and assy tightening Extended 1/32 overlap capability to alleviate thickness variations Up to three repair cycles using same assembly process (two shank oversize and one head oversize) INSTALLATION SEQUENCE 1 Drill conventional hole 2 Insert manually the STL fastener in clearance hole, engage the mating STR nut 4 Check correct installation with the dedicated STL gage 3 Tighten the STR nut, thus expanding the sleeve and installing adequate preload in the assembly No need for hole cleaning Easy free manual insertion into the hole One sided installation thanks to the ASTER system One step installation using optimized STR60 and STR90 titanium nuts Dedicated control gage, specially developed by LISI AEROSPACE, for quick and easy check

5 BENEFITS OF THE STL SYSTEM LIGHTNING STRIKE PROTECTION The tightly controlled radial expansion provides lightning strike protection and better electrical conductivity. Thus, it preserves fuel tank areas from sparks and high temperature outgasing. ECF Sparking issue with conventional clearance pins Special care has been given to contact quality with Expanded Copper Foil (ECF) on countersunk head by optimizing the sleeve edge. The STL system passed lightning strike protection tests performed by LISI AEROSPACE. Lightning strike protection thanks to the STL system INTERFERENCE FIT PINS Pulled into the assembly by tightening the fully compatible STR nut, the conical core bolt of the STL fastener expands the sleeve radially into the cylindrical hole.
