1 ADJUSTING AJACK M41B SCOPE I was a bonehead, and managed to delete the previous post on this subject while trying to move it, so here it is again, but this time with pics! All of the elevation adjustments are performed in the elevation turret on the scope body, while the windage adjustments are performed in the scope mount. The windage adjustments are easier, so we will start with that first. CAUTION!!! The windage screws have a small thread (M3X.5) paired with a large head diameter. Consequently, they are VERY easy to overtighten and snap the head off! There are no replacements, so don't break them. I would like to re-emphasize this, they break easy! Gently snug them, don't crank on them! Step I is to remove the mount from the rifle and flip it over so you are looking at the bottom. At the forward end of the dovetail mount area is a large screw, this secures the front ring, and acts as a pivot for the windage adjustments. Loosen this screw a quarter to half turn, there is no reason to remove it. Then replace the mount on the rifle. Pic #1 shows this screw. Picture #1, front ring main screw As stated above, the front ring acts as a pivot for the entire mount. The rear ring mounts into a curved dovetail, and the windage adjustments are accomplished with 2 windage adjustment screws, one on each side. Loosening one screw and tightening the other will slide the dovetail in the desired direction. The curved dovetail is shown in Picture#2, and the windage adjustment screws are shown in picture #3.

Take a shot, and check to see if the hit is left or right of the bull, don't worry about elevation yet. If your hit is left, loosen the right screw about 1/4 turn, and gently snug the left screw. Shoot again. Keep adjusting until you are centered left/right. Then move out to longer range, as you move out, it will take smaller adjustments to move your point of impact the same amount. Keep fiddling until you are centered at 300 yards. Once you are happy with the windage, remove the mount from the rifle, and retighten the front ring main screw. NOTE: you should be using high quality, uniform ammo, such as Swede milsurp m94/41 prickskytte, or high quality handloads. Once you have it sighted in, stick to that ammo, and that ammo only! 4 ELEVATION ADJUSTMENT MINOR ADJUSTMENT If your point of impact is only a few inches off, use this method. If your adjustment is bottomed out and you are still hitting high, use the MAJOR ADJUSTMENT method. Pick a known range to zero. (The scope increments are in meters, 100 meters=109 yards). Loosen the range dial lock screw (Pic #1) and adjust the elevation knob until you are hitting at zero elevation at a given range (ignoring what the elevation reading is). When you are satisfied with the zero, lock down the thumbscrew. Then loosen (but do not remove) the 2 small screws on the plate at the top of the elevation knob. It will now be possible to rotate the outer range dial (not the knob) until the number lines up at whatever range you are shooting. Hold the range dial in this position while you retighten the 2 small screws. The Swedish Army manual states that the scope is to be zeroed at 300 meters (327 yards). This is approximate mid-range on the scope, and may cause a slight deviation at short or long range. Picture #1, elevation lockscrew

6 all the way down, he was still hitting 14" high at 100 yards. These scopes are calibrated for m94/41 prickskytte (sharpshooter) ammo, make sure that is what you are using, or something reasonably close in trajectory. There are actually 2 ways to make major elevation adjustments, I DO NOT KNOW what the preferred method is, but they both work. The simplest (and most scary) method is first. Dial the elevation all the way down, then back off a hair. Remove the 2 tiny screws that hold on the elevation turret cover plate. Lift off the top plate. Underneath is the adjusting knob, there is a large screw in the center, (see pic #4) the 2 small empty holes that the cover screws came out of, further out from center are 2 more holes, only one of these last 2 has a screw installed. 7 Picture #5, "side adjustment screw" Picture #6, empty hole If you need to make a major adjustment downward (or upward) remove the large screw, then carefully lift the entire range knob straight up. It has a square hole in the center. Rotate the knob clockwise 90 degrees (for downward adjustment, counter-clockwise for upward adjustment), then replace the knob on the scope, and put everything back together.

8 The second method is a little more complicated, but is preferable for a "less major" adjustment. With the elevation knob at near bottom of adjustment, loosen the small side screw (pic #5), and unscrew it about halfway. You should then be able to dial the elevation further down, past the previous "stop". Once you are below the previous stop, remove the small screw completely, and replace in the opposite empty hole (pic #6). The screw acts as a stop, and you now have 180 degrees more adjustment than you had before. After either one of these "major" methods is used, you will undoubtedly have to re-zero using the minor adjustment method. If you have not adjusted it enough, either method can be repeated.
