1 GLENELG MEASURE GUIDE The Glenelg is a stylish, compact, straight drop outdoor blind with side channel guides. The compact design of the hood makes it ideal for exposed top fit, face fit and recess fit mounted installations. The fabric is fully concealed when retracted inside a powder coated aluminium cassette. MEASURING BASICS Use a suitable ladder to reach the top of the opening in order to hold a measuring tape level. A steel tape measure is strongly recommended. When measuring horizontally always check the tape is level with no bow. When measuring vertically always check the tape is plumb. Measure, write and then re-measure to check what you have written is correct. Always record measurements in millimetres STEP 1 Type of Fit - Determine if installation is FACE FIT or RECESS FIT/TOP FIT Determine which finish you prefer and carry out the measure guide steps to ensure that the awning will fit correctly. The cassette can be affixed through the roof of the cassette (i.e. upward) or through the back of the cassette. NOTE: check for any obstructions that would interfere with installation of channels and outdoor blind: e.g. window handles, down pipes, electrical cables etc. STEP 2 Check & specify left hand or right hand crank handle side The crank handle side is determined by: 1) Standing in front of the beam/wall/structure you are fixing the awning to, and 2) From that position, decide if the crank handle should be on the left or right hand side Recess Fit/ Top Fit Measure the length of the crank handle you require (sizes available are: 1000mm, 1200mm, 1500mm, 2000mm, 2500mm & 3000mm in white color) Face Fit
2 GLENELG MEASURE GUIDE STEP 3 (a) FACE FIT MEASURING (A) 50mm Overall outdoor blind width (B) Width of visual fabric (A) 50mm HORIZONTAL OPENING MEASUREMENT Measure the overall width at 3 points: top, middle & bottom. Use the WIDEST DIMENSION for ordering purposes. The overall width is measured from the outer edge of the left side channel to the outer edge of the right side channel. OVERALL OUTDOOR BLIND WIDTH: Measurement A + Measurement B + Measurement A Measure width at 3 points 1 2 Measurement A: Represents width of side channel on each side of fabric (50mm + 50mm = 100mm) 3 Measurement B: Represents width of visual fabric. This measurement can be: 1. The width of the actual opening OR 2. The width of the actual opening plus any section of the surface past opening. Face fit horizontal measuring VERTICAL OPENING MEASUREMENT Measure the overall drop at 3 points: left, middle & right. Use the SHORTEST DIMENSION for ordering purposes. The overall height is measured from the top of the cassette to the bottom of the side channel. OVERALL OUTDOOR BLIND DROP: Measurement C + Measurement D + Measurement E Measurement C: Represents height above actual opening. NOTE: Overall outdoor blind drop Measure height at 3 points (C) 125mm (D) Height of opening 1. Cassette is 125mm high which is shown as Measurement C on the diagram. Therefore, ADD a minimum of 125mm to Measurement D to ensure top tube is above actual opening. (E) 100mm reccommended 2. If installing in front of hinged windows that open outwards, please note that the bottom bar is 60mm high, meaning measurement C should be a minimum of 185mm Face fit vertical measuring (125mm + 60mm) Measurement D: Represents actual opening Measurement E: Represents space for bottom bar to extend past actual opening NOTE: Suggested minimum measurement is 100mm. If measuring to a floor there is no requirement for Measurement E as opening finishes at floor level and cannot extend past.
3 GLENELG MEASURE GUIDE STEP 3 (b) RECESS FIT/TOP FIT MEASURING HORIZONTAL OPENING MEASUREMENT Measure the internal width of opening at 3 points: top, middle and bottom. Use the SMALLEST DIMENSION for ordering purposes. NOTE: An automatic 5mm deduction will be applied to the measurement given. This deduction ensures that the cassette and fabric will fit horizontally inside actual opening. Width of opening Measure width and drop at 6 points 1 2 Height of opening VERTICAL OPENING MEASUREMENT (DROP) Measure the overall drop at 3 points: left, middle & right. Use the SHORTEST DIMENSION for ordering purposes. NOTE: An automatic 5mm deduction will be applied to the measurement given. This deduction ensures that the cassette and fabric will fit vertically inside actual opening IMPORTANT NOTE FOR RECESS FITTING Minimum recess depth required is 125mm. Please check recess is deep enough to meet this requirement. MAXIMUM OUTDOOR BLIND SIZES Width: 5400mm Maximum Drop: 3000mm Maximum GENERAL OUTDOOR BLIND COMPONENT MEASUREMENTS 30mm 125mm deep 29mm deep Side Channel Cassette with bottom bar 125mm high 60mm high 50mm wide (front)
4 GLENELG The Glenelg is a stylish, compact straight drop outdoor blind with side channel guides. The compact design of the hood makes it ideal for exposed top fit, face fit and recess fit mounted installations. The fabric is fully concealed when retracted inside a powder coated aluminium head box.
