3 General information Solidare Verso Maximum dimensions Solidare Verso The Solidare Verso system has a maximum width of 6.00 m with a projection of 4.00 m. If the system is larger than 4.50 m, extra components can be used to support the bottom cover and front profile. 6 Determination projection Solidare Verso Use the Excel file to determine the projection of the Solidare Verso under Piazza or Stanza (ask our sales department) or calculate the projection with help of the following formula. Enter the roofing angle for α. Note: Use of the formula allows 3 mm play between the Solidare Verso and the leg. 8 Assembly Solidare Verso 1. Cut the profiles and PVC guides to the correct lengths (see cut sizes). 2. File round the fabric groove of the steel roller so that the fabric can easily be pulled in. 3. Insert fabric drain into the fabric and pull the fabric into the fabric groove of the steel roller. Wind the fabric topwise around the roller. 4. Place the cord pulleys, bungs and the motor (example shows right-hand motor control). 5. Make 4 windings of cord around the cord pulley and ensure that the cord runs neatly. TIP: Apply double sided tape in the cord pulley before winding the cord. Now the first 4 windings are fixed in place and will remain so during transport. The required length of cord per side is determined as follows: 2x the projection + 1.5x the width +1 m. 6. Drill a hole of 4 mm into the guide block. The correct position is shown by a dot in the guide block. 7. Slide the front profile against the fabric. Place the 4 support blocks in front of the springs in the front profile. Attach the guide blocks to the front profile using self-tapping screw 4,2x45 mm. Fasten the plastic end caps for the zipper fabric with self-tapping screw 3,5x32 mm. Solidare Verso pergola awning EN

9 Assembly Solidare Verso 8. Slide the support blocks over the springs and fasten them with self-drilling screw 4.2x13 mm (2 pcs. per spring). 9. Apply the stickers showing maximum stretch of the spring in the front profile. A spring may be stretched up to 60% of its original length. In case of a short spring (length 35 cm), apply the redline of the sticker at 56 cm from the side of the front profile. In case of a long spring (length 57 cm), apply the redline of the sticker at 91 cm from the side of the front profile. 10. Hook the cover profile of the front profile into the front profile and fasten the profile with selftapping screw 3,5x32 mm through the drilled hole. 11. Take the zipper at the end of the fabric and place it between two PVC end caps. Note: Make sure that the zipper runs parallel to the PVC. Fasten the end with a self-tapping screw 3,5x16 mm. 10 Assembly Solidare Verso 12. Insert the cord through the guide block into the front profile. Allow a loop to extend from the front profile. Neatly roll up the rest of the cord and lay it into the front profile. 13. Mount the PVC bearing block and the aluminium motor support to the top cover supports. Place the brush and PVC fabric shell into the bottom cover. Fasten the top cover supports to the bottom cover using self-tapping screw 4,2x32 mm. 14. Dismount the top parts of the bearing block and the motor support. Place the complete internal mechanism into the bottom cover and fasten the mechanism to parts of the bearing block and motor support. Place the angle brackets on the top cover supports. 11 Assembly Solidare Verso Guide assembly 2x per screen 15. Every mm, apply 2 self-adhesive neoprene strips on the PVC guides. Make sure that a neoprene strip is placed at the bottom and 100 mm from the top. 16. Then fasten the funnel side guide to the PVC guides using self-tapping screw 2,9x19 mm. 17. Drill holes of 7 mm into the side guide as shown in the figures below. End bearing front Top cover support top 18. Slide the PVC guide, guide plate and the clamping plates of the mounting supports into the side guide. Lightly fasten the clamping plates to prevent them from sliding in the profile. 12 Installation Solidare Verso 1. Mark the position of the holes. Hold the mounting support in line with the outside of the support beam, with the back against the wall. Place the side guide support at 100 mm from the mounting supports and move it inside by 10,5 mm. At the front, place it at 100 mm from the inside of the leg. Note: When using the slot profile, keep the supports in line with the inside of the beam. 2. Drill holes of 7.5 mm at the marked positions and insert M5 blind rivet nuts into the holes. 3. Fasten the mounting supports using countersunk head metal screws M5x20. For the side guide supports, use cylinder head metal screws M5x25. Solidare Verso pergola awning EN

13 Installation Solidare Verso Steps 4 to 6 below are optional for a system larger than 4,5 m 4. Place the central bracket against the bottom of the support beam and slide it against the wall. Screw the central bracket in place using self-drilling screws 4,2 x 25 mm. 5. Drill 4 mm holes in the guide rail at intervals of 400 mm. Keep the guide rail flush with the botton and fasten it in the support beam with self-drilling screw 3,5x9.5 mm. 6. Click the cover profile on the guide rail using the PVC click blocks. 14 Installation Solidare Verso 7. Slide the cassette with front profile, with the studs on the top cover supports, into the mounting support. Once the cassette is fully inserted into the mounting support, it will drop into the recess, ensuring easy rotation for further mounting. 8. Insert the wheels of the guide blocks into the side guide, slide the side guide against the top cover support, making sure that the cord lies freely in the side guide. Note: Check the movement of the zipper in the PVC guide. 9. Fasten the side guide with cylinder head metal screws M6x14 through the drilled holes. Allow the side guides to rest on the floor. 10. Slide the bearing block into the side guide. Pull the loop of the cord over the wheel. Note: Make sure the cord is not tangled and runs topwise over the wheel from the top cover support. Fasten the bearing block in place using an hexagon-head bolt M6x Feed the cord through the front profile as shown below. Solidare Verso pergola awning EN

15 Installation Solidare Verso 12. Remove the cord tensioner from the front profile for easier positioning of the cord on the wheels. Insert the cord through the hole in the cord tensioner and pull lightly to tension. Make a knot in the cord at around 25 cm behind the hole. Cut off the cord after the knot. Note: Check that the cord runs smoothly over the wheels throughout the system. 13. Place the cord tensioner in the front profile and fasten it by turning the PVC guide blocks with a screwdriver. Tension the system, turning in the direction as shown on the cord tensioner. Note: Every spring may be stretched to a maximum of 60% of its own length. 14. Let the fabric run in and out a couple of times to check the correct functioning. Also check that the springs are not stretched too far. 15. Fasten the cover to the bearing block using socket screw M6x16 mm. 16. Optional: Make a hole opening in the top cover for the power cable. Hook the top cover into the bottom cover and fasten it to the corners of the top cover supports with self-drilling screws 3,5x9,5. Solidare Verso pergola awning EN

16 Steps 17, 18, 19 and 21 below only apply to a system that is larger than 4,5 m. If this is not the case, then perform steps 20 and Tip the entire system by turning up the side guides in the direction of the support beams. Slide the front clamping plate with bolts over the earlier mounted side guide supports and temporarily fasten in place. 18. Position the front profile support on the front profile by placing the wheel in the earlier mounted guide rail. Keep the rear of the front profile support in line with the rear of the front profile. Mark the position of the holes. 19. Again tip the Solidare Verso and allow the side guides to rest on the ground. Drill holes of 7 mm at the marked position. Insert M5 blind rivet nuts into the drilled holes. 20. Tip the Solidare Verso upward and fasten the side guides to the side guide supports using clamping plates and bolts. 17 Installation Solidare Verso 21. Place the front profile support on the front profile and fasten with socket screw M5x20. Make sure that the wheel runs straight in the guide rail. 22. Check that the cord runs over all the wheels. Fasten the adapter block to the top cover support using cylinder head socket screw M6x65. Finally place the cover profile on the front profile.
