Assemble the shafts through the bearing plates, screw the spring plates securely into the predrilled holes. The shaft centreline must be in a straight line, as shown in detail 2, page Pull the shafts together and place the shaft coupling centrally over the joint. Push a parallel key into the keyway from both sides. Clamp the shaft coupling (see detail 2). 3. Guide the cable from the bottom hinge and back around the cable drum (see detail 1). 4. Insert the cable through the cable lead-in of the drum, with a loose pointed screw, guide the cable through the drum, as shown in detail 3. Now rotate the drum ½ turn with the cable lead-in facing you. The pointed screw for fastening the cable must now be tightened hard with your fingers. Then tighten the pointed screw 2 turns with a spanner. 5. Secure the cable drum to the shaft with a parallel key and two pointed screws. 6. Before the cable is placed on the other cable drum in the same way, tension one of the springs approx. 1 turn to keep the cable tight. 7. The door leaf can be finely adjusted onthe cable screw terminals on the bottom hinges when the springs have been tensioned.

30 SHAFT ASSEMBLY SPRING PAGE: 8.7 WHITE Detail 1 Number of spring turns B RED A SHAFT ASSEMBLY 1. Look at the number of spring turns on the spring plate label. Each turn indicates one whole revolution of the spring. 2. Tension the springs by means of the two spring winding rods. Insert one of the spring rods into the hole pointing downwards on the cone. Lift up the spring rod (see detail 1, point B) until the next spring rod can be inserted into the hole in the cone, now pointing downwards. Continue until the coloured line on the spring shows the number of turns required. When removing allow one spring bar in turn to rest against the building (see detail 2). Detail 2 Cone 3. Then tighten the cone bolts to a maximum of ½ turn, after contact with the shaft! 4. Lubricate the springs with SAE 20 oil. Avoid dripping. 5. Test run the door. The door must be balanced in any position. 6. If the door does not hang horizontally it must be adjusted at the cable screw terminal. If this is not sufficient move the cable on the drum. Note that during this movement of the cable the cable must only be pulled out of the cable fastening on the drum. Look at the number of spring turns on the spring plate label.
