Also suitable for peening welds of hard facing cast iron. The ends are heat treated for toughness and durability, and are sharp and finely pointed to access small areas and corners. Many welding hammers produced by cheap machining have thick ends that blunt easily and will not penetrate the small holes and corners where trapped slag can allow water to collect, causing corrosion of the metal and eventual weld failure. Our forged welding hammers are welded to the handle at the right point for proper balance, unlike inferior brands which are just welded in the centre, and are uncomfortable to work with.
