1 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TELEVISION ACADEMY ANNOUNCES AWARDS CATEGORIES TO BE PRESENTED AT THE 69 th EMMY AWARDS AND THE 2017 CREATIVE ARTS EMMY AWARDS CEREMONIES (NoHo Arts District, Calif., July 27, 2017) - The Television Academy announced today which awards categories will be presented during the 69 th Emmy Awards and the 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremonies. The 69 th Emmy Awards will telecast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Sunday, September 17 (8:00-11:00 PM ET/5:00-8:00 PM PT) on CBS. Stephen Colbert will serve as host. The 69 th Emmy Awards is produced by White Cherry Entertainment. The Emmy Awards telecast will present awards for outstanding comedy and drama series, limited series, reality competition, variety talk and sketch, television movie, acting, directing, and writing. Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner are executive producers; Weiss is director; and Chris Licht, executive producer of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, is a producer. The Creative Arts ceremonies, honoring outstanding artistic and technical achievements in television, will take place over two consecutive nights Saturday, September 9, and Sunday, September 10 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles beginning at 5:00 PM PT and will be produced by Bob Bain. Creative Arts Saturday will present categories related to animation, documentary, reality and variety programming, while Creative Arts Sunday will present technical and creative achievement categories for scripted programming including comedy, drama and limited series. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will air Saturday, September 16, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on FXX.
