2 Press Release HOW HIGH THE MOON brings together a dozen artists whose representation of space favors conceptual over Euclidian perspective. Cartographies, maps, topographical plots, abstract landscapes, celestial visions and astral nomenclatures are also mental projections through which space is manifested at a scale beyond mere ocular ability. Abstracted from focal vision and perspective, these works multiply our viewpoints and raise us to heights at which the horizon itself disappears, dissolving into the visual plane. If, as Victor Hugo writes, the horizon underlines the infinite, it is at this threshold that the works in the exhibition situate us: at the boundary of the infinite that only the spirit can apprehend.
