1 Sketch Class: Still Life Student will learn Basic technique of pencil drawing, light and shadow. Drawing paper pad (9 x 12 ) - Brand: Grumbacher or Basic Sketch Book Graphite pencils: HB, 2B and 3B, one or two each Pastel pencil in white White eraser Gray kneaded eraser Sandpaper block or sandpaper (fine to medium grit) Paper stump

2 Acrylic Class: Abstract Painting Student will learn how to use basic shapes and forms to create Painting using texture and brush technique Acrylic paper 9 x 12 Brand- Strathmore or Canon Acrylic Color set Paintbrushes (4 to 5 different size) Sketch book 9 x 12 Drawing Pencil and White eraser Ruler or other straight edges Round lids from various sized containers (margarine, yogurt, milk caps, etc.) Be sure to have a nice variety available Disposable glass for water, plate for mixing color, Rage or paper towel

3 Face study Class: Student will learn to see and understand correct facial placement. Students will use a magazine photo of a person, cut in half, as the beginning of a drawing. Half magazine picture, half drawing. Drawing paper pad (9 x 12 ) - Brand: Grumbacher or Basic Sketch Book Graphite pencils: HB, 2B and 3B, one or two each Pastel pencil in white White eraser Gray kneaded eraser Sandpaper block or sandpaper (fine to medium grit) Paper stump

4 Pointillism Painting (Master Painting by Georges Seurat) Using Q-tips, you can make your own pointillism painting. Learning about the style of art known as pointillism and the artist (Georges Seurat) who created it. Acrylic paper 9 x 12 Brand- Strathmore or Canon Acrylic paint set Paintbrushes (4 or 5 different sizes) Drawing Pencil and White eraser Ruler Disposable glass for water, plate for mixing paint, Rage or paper towel Q-tips (10-15) About George Seurat Georges Seurat was a painter who was interested in shape and pattern, but he approached these things in a very unusual way. He was the developer of a very scientific way of painting known as pointillism. He used tiny dots of pure color, side by side to build form in his paintings. These tiny dots of paint, when side by side, give the viewer's eye a chance to blend the color optically, rather than having the colors readily blended on the canvas. This was also known as divisionism.

5 Shaded Bottles or Pitchers (acrylic ) learn how to draw (paint) bottles on their papers which appear to be three dimensional. Students will learn about shading, value & basic techniques of acrylic painting. 6 Drawing of FLOWERS Students will make large scale paintings and drawings of flowers in the style of Georgia O'Keeffe Acrylic paper 9 x 12 Brand- Strathmore or Canon * Acrylic paint set (optional) Paintbrushes (4 or 5 different sizes) Drawing Pencil and White eraser Ruler Disposable glass for water, plate for mixing paint, Rage or paper towel * Students are free to use crayons or pastel or acrylic Paint for this class.
