3 Introduction Thank you for purchasing one of our Fotospeed ink systems. You have just taken the first step to enjoying the cost saving and superior performance benefits of using Fotospeed 4K Vivid ink. Our refill systems are simple to set up, easy to fill and will provide you with many years of trouble free printing and significant savings. Please follow these instructions thoroughly and make yourself familiar with the supplied components before you begin to install your Fotospeed SC-P600 Tubeless InkFlow system. You must remember that you will now be in contact with our bulk ink as opposed to sealed cartridges that you may be used to. During installation, please be aware that if ink is spilled it can stain your work surface. We recommend placing a black plastic bin liner on your work surface before you start the installation and have a roll of kitchen paper ready. Fotospeed does not accept liability for ink damage to your property. 4 Preparing your Fotospeed cartridges STEP 1 Your Fotospeed cartridges are ready to be filled with the Fotospeed pigment inks from the supplied bottles. Take the coloured rubber bung out from the top of each cartridge. Be aware that spillages can happen have your kitchen roll to hand. STEP 2 Fill each cartridge with the corresponding ink. Use kitchen roll, 3 as in picture 3, just in case any bubbles are created. Take your syringe with the metal probe. Insert this into your first bottle of ink. Pull back the syringe plunger to fill the syringe with ink. Insert the metal probe into the hole from where you removed the coloured rubber bung - see pictures Gently push down the plunger to fill the cartridge. Each cartridge may take two syringe loads to fill completely. You can monitor how full the cartridge is by looking at the opaque side wall see picture 3 Put the coloured rubber bung back into the filling hole to seal. Tel: P age

5 Prime the cartridge by pulling out 1-2ml of ink using the primimg syringe - see picture 4. Pierce a hole in the film on the bottom of the cartridge by inserting the cartridge into the printer and then remove. Repeat the process of filling and priming with the remaining eight cartridges. Clean the priming syringe between colours with warm water. 4 5 Filling Tel: P age

6 Installing your Fotospeed cartridges STEP 3 Insert the filled cartridges into the corresponding colour slots in the printer s cartridge chamber see picture 6. Close the lid and wait until the cartridges have been recognised and the printer begins its priming process. This will take several minutes to complete. 6 STEP 4 Once the printer has completed its priming process your status monitor should show all the cartridges as full see picture 7 7 Tel: P age

7 STEP 5 Carry out a nozzle check to make sure all the nozzles are printing correctly. The function for producing a nozzle check can be located under the Maintenance or Utilities tab in the Epson print driver software supplied with your printer. Happy printing! Tel: P age

8 Resetting your chips It is very important to keep an eye on the ink levels within the cartridges (see picture 8).by lifting out the cartridge and looking at it side-on. You must not allow the cartridge to become empty; this will introduce air into the tubing. To reset our chips, take the cartridge out when it says empty, re-fill and replace the cartridge. Useful tips To prevent your cartridge running empty it is recommended you do the following: 1) Nominate one day a month (or more regularly if you are printing daily) whereby you will take out the cartridges and top them all up. 2) The levels of the chips will only reset when the chip thinks the cartridges are empty, they are not able to determine the exact level of ink within the cartridge. 3) When the X does appear, stating ink out simply lift out the offending cartridge, top up and place the cartridge back in place to reset the chip back to full.
