Use strong adhesive tape to seal this aperture. 2. If the filling hole (Aperture B) is sealed by a plastic ball in the top, push in the ball using an old ballpoint pen. If the cartridge does not have this opening, using the drill bit supplied with the kit, a 3mm hole must be carefully drilled in the position shown. (Aperture B) IMPORTANT - The aperture in the centre of the top (Aperture A) must NOT be pierced. 4. Assemble the syringe and steel filling tube and fill with 10ml of JR INKJET print head cleaner. 5. Inject 20ml of print head cleaner into the filling hole. Stand cartridge on some tissue and place in an old dish, this will draw the print head cleaner out of the cartridge. Turn cartridge upside down and gently squeeze the sides to remove excess print head cleaner. 6. Fill syringe with ink then inject into the filling hole. When ink overflows from filling hole or starts to leak from print heads, cartridge is full. Stop injecting ink immediately. 7. Seal the hole with the plug provided. If the plug seal is not airtight, then secure and seal plug with strong adhesive tape. This seal MUST be airtight, if not cartridge will leak. 8. Blot print heads with tissue to remove any excess ink. IMPORTANT - DO NOT LEAVE ON TISSUE. Remove the tape over Aperture C and continue to blot if necessary. 9. Allow cartridge to stand on a protective, non-absorbent surface overnight to ensure no Leakage i.e. an old saucer. Blot print heads again and check for leakage. 10. Install cartridge and run a priming cycle as per printer instructions. IMPORTANT - For best results, refill whilst ink still remains in cartridge. 97

The filler holes are located under the top of the cartridge, which must be removed before filling. The easiest way to remove this top is to carefully cut along the seal with a sharp instrument such as a penknife. 2. Once top has been removed, assemble syringe and steel filling tube and fill with correct colour ink. (See diagram for colour filling detail) 3. Insert the steel filling tube into the correct filler hole, following the details in the diagram above. For best results, push the steel filling tube directly into the hole making sure that the steel filling tube is straight and not at a angle. Keep pushing until the steel filling tube reaches the centre of the sponge. IMPORTANT - The cartridge contains a sponge and a slight resistance may be felt. 4. Slowly inject ink into the cartridge. When the ink overflows from filling hole or starts to leak from print heads, cartridge is full. 5. Blot the print head to remove any excess ink and clean syringe with water before continuing to fill next colour. Ensure syringe is dry before refilling with ink. 6. After refilling the top can be replaced and secured using strong adhesive tape. The best way to secure the top is to stick the tape from one side, over the top and down the opposite side. 7. Leave cartridge to stand on a protective, non-absorbent surface overnight to ensure no further leakage and to give the ink time to fully saturate the sponge. IMPORTANT - DO NOT LEAVE ON TISSUE. SLOWLY drip ink into appropriate filling holes. When ink starts to leak from the outlet hole cartridge is full. Stop injecting immediately. 6. After refilling place adhesive tape over filling holes. 7. Leave the cartridge to stand overnight on non-absorbent surface.
