6 Dragon boat The Dragon Boat Festival dates all the way back to the Warring States Period of the Zhou Dynasty. Legend has it that a famous poet named Qu Yuan killed himself on this day by jumping into a river when he learned that his homeland had been conquered. This festival takes place on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. Traditions on this day include dragon boat racing, eating rice dumplings called zongzi, and wearing a perfume pouch to ward off evil spirits. The Night of The Night of Sevens Festival The Night of the Sevens Festival falls on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. This festival was first celebrated during the Han Dynasty. The legend behind the festival is a love story that tells of a cowhand who fell in love with a maiden from heaven. However, the lovers were separated by the Queen of heaven. After trying to get back together for a long time, they finally met again on this day. Traditionally the day was a day to worship the stars and for young girls to pray for a good husband. Today it has become more of lovers' day like Valentine's Day.

7 The most important festival of the year was the Spring Festival or Chinese New Year. The entire celebration lasts for 15 days. It starts with the first day of the New Year and ends with the Lantern Festival. The Ancient Chinese have celebrated the Spring Festival as far back as the Shang Dynasty over 3000 years ago. According to Chinese mythology the celebration first started when a small village used the noise of firecrackers and drums to scare off the monster Nian. The Spring Festival is a time for getting together with family, exchanging gifts, and lighting fireworks. The color red is also popular as it was used to help scare off the monster Nian. <. Dragon boats > This day is celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month. The number nine was special to the Ancient Chinese. It was the lucky number of the emperor and the dragon. Originally people would climb to the top of a hill or mountain and drink chrysanthemum tea to ward off evil spirits.

8 July 4th There are a lot of ways that people celebrate. Perhaps the most popular is to have a cookout with friends and then view fireworks. Some people purchase and light their own fireworks, while John Adams believed that July 2nd was the correct date on which to celebrate the birth of American independence, and would reportedly turn down invitations to appear at July 4th events in protest. Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4, the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.other will attend large gatherings with huge public displays of fireworks. The day is a day of national pride and patriotic displays as well. This includes flying the US flag and wearing red, white, and blue. Many bands play patriotic songs like The Star Spangled Banner, America the Beautiful, and God Bless America.Other ways to celebrate include parades, baseball games, musical concerts, and outdoor picnics. A few the essential elements are candles, marigolds, a photo, sugar skulls, water, food and cut paper decorations called papel picado. The Day of the Dead is a time to remember family and friends who have died.the Day of the Dead is not a sad tradition. It is a festive time to remember and honor the dead.as a part of the Day of the Dead celebration, families build altars in their homes for loved ones who have died.the Day of the Dead is sometimes celebrated in graveyards. In some areas, families decorate the graves of their loved ones. They stay up all night celebrating and telling stories about the people who have died. The Day of the Dead is celebrated on November 1 and 2. The celebration starts November 1st. The Day of the Dead is November 2nd..The Day of the Dead has become very popular in many countries, and people are not always aware of the meaning of the holiday. People sometimes combine the Day of the Dead with Halloween. It is important to understand the significance of the Day of the Dead and be respectful of the tradition of honoring and remembering love ones who have died.
