1 Eggs This week on Play School we have fun with eggs! We look at some of the creatures that lay eggs, such as chickens and dinosaurs, as well as how eggs can be used in cooking and craft. 2 MAKE AND DO Paper Coloured wax crayons Green and blue food colouring 2 containers 2 paint brushes How To Make Flower and Firework Pictures Mix the green food colouring with some water in a plastic container. Do the same with the blue food colouring. To make a flower picture, draw some flowers on a piece of paper with coloured crayons. Use the paint brush to wash the green dye over the picture. To make a firework picture, draw fireworks on another piece of paper and use blue wash as the sky. Page 2 of 10

4 MAKE AND DO How To Make Scrambled Eggs 3 eggs Dash of milk Salt & pepper Bread Butter Break three eggs into a bowl. Add a dash of milk and some salt and pepper. Whisk together with a fork. Melt some butter in pan. Pour in the egg mixture, occasionally stirring until the eggs are cooked. Meanwhile, make some toast. Butter it and place on a plate. Pile the scrambled eggs on the toast, ready to eat. Page 4 of 10

Use the glue to draw a picture on a piece of paper. Gently tip some sand on the paper. Shake away the excess to reveal a sandy picture. Boil some eggs and, when they are cool, draw some colourful patterns on their shells. You could turn them into dinosaur eggs! Page 5 of 10
6 MAKE AND DO How To Make Doll Figurines Small drink bottles Ping pong balls or small polystyrene balls Pipe cleaners Wool Texta Glue Attach the ping pong balls to the top of the bottle with glue. Glue on some wool for hair. Draw on a face with a texta. Glue on scraps of material for clothes. Use pipe cleaners for arms. Page 6 of 10

8 MAKE AND DO How To Make Painted Eggs Hard boiled eggs Wax Crayons Food Colouring Egg Cups Draw a pattern on the eggs using wax crayons. Dip the eggs in food colouring and let dry. Once dry, display the decorated eggs in egg cups. How To Make Decorated Bags Paper bags Strips of colourful paper Shiny stars Scrap paper Glue and brushes Glue strips of colourful paper over the front of a paper bag. Make a starry one. Afterwards you could decorate your hardboiled egg any way you like.
