2 I. COURS AIMS COURS AIMS: 1. To give students knowledge and understanding of the function of the bone and joint system in healthy individuals and in diseases 2. To give students necessary knowledge to be able to make early and correct diagnosis of most common diseases, injuries and deformities of the bone and joint system. This will be at the level suitable for GP and it will be integrated with General and Family Medicine practice. It will also include preventive measures for the community in order to preserve health of the bone and joint system. 3. The course should prepare students to incorporate gained knowledge and to be capable to help in rehabilitation and restoring social functions of individuals with disability and invalidity According to the aims, necessary knowledge and skills after the course will be understanding of the: anatomy, pathology, physiology, radiology, imaging techniques, neurology, surgery in bone and joitn surgery and traumatology. XAMINATIONS Types of examination and examination dates At the end of the first week students have colloquies in preliminary general orthopaedic knowledge: diagnosis in orthopaedics; principles of treatment, infections, degenerative diseases, main bone and joint disorders. At the end of the second week students have colloquies in clinical orthopaedic examination. Final exam includes oral exam in theoretical orthopaedic knowledge.
