1 SERVICE NOTE SUR3+010 Electronic Faults on main board Typical Problems: Surtronic won t turn ON Pick-up error Motor error Short Battery life (High current Drain) Motor not returning Turning OFF at end of traverse Possible Causes : Surtronic won t turn ON or high current drain Capacitor C5420 usually causes 30mA current drain when Surtronic is OFF and main cuse of Surtronic not turning ON Capacitor C7206 Cause high current drain when faulty C3412 and C2914 prevent Surtronic from turning ON Pick-up error Pickup Broken calibration pot R9726 Capacitor C8728 Broken coil L6023 and L6320 Motor not returning andturning OFF at end of traverse V1629 motor not returning after measure and turns OFF. Change this to a BC108 to rectify the problem C823 causes motor not returning after traverse.
