3 D-GPS Introduction The lap timer D-GPS uses the GPS technology for tracking the finish line. The finish line is configurated as the geographical location, expressed in latitude and longitude, the link with satellite store this parameters. The satellite signal maybe subject to several weather interference and ground hurdles, so we suggest you to follow carefully the complete set up conteined in this user guide. We suggest you to activate the staellite linking at least 10/15 minutes before to use it, for the correct synchronization with grid reference. If the signal is absent, the problem don t coming from device, but maybe in that moment it s hard to receive the enough signal from satellite, same trouble happen with car navigator. It s possible also a temporary loosing signal during the practice, in that case you ll loose the lap time during that session. For these reasons the lap timer is equipped also with infrared receiver, with a special software that allow to use GPS or Infrared system, if in that moment isn t possible to use the GPS system. The infrared beacon compatible with the RT-GPS 2001 is the code P008 and P035 (sold separately) or is possible use a beacon present on the track but must be set the same IR code. P CH P 035 NOT CODED Fitting: Fit the device in a convenient position with the two bolts in a backside. Wiring: There are three connectors,, connect the power supply clable, the infrared cable (if you need) and the GPS antenna following the correct side connectors. Power Supply: Connect the power supply wire (big connector) there are three wires, the yellow wire must be connected under the ignition key to 12 volts, the red wire 12v + and the transparent - Ground directly to battery vehicle.

4 GPS Antenna After connect the GPS Antenna into connector (Three pins) you have to positioning the antenna on vehicle, that MUST BE ABSOLUTELY IN HORIZONTAL POSITION without hurdles over and around. Infrared Receiver: Fitting the infrared receiver on the same side to the beacon present on the track, without any hurdles in front of it. Turn on: This version turn on when you switch on the ignition key for starting engine. Turn off: Switch off the ignition key. MAIN SET UP: Push > and after swith on the ignition key, the htree leds starting to flash, and in this way you ll enter in Main Set Up Menu. Release now the > will appear the first parameters to set. BUTTON COMMAND FUNCTIONS: To scroll parameters: Use the > and < where < increase data and > decrease data To set data use + and - To exit from main menu push simultaneously + and -

5 We check now the several parameters to select and the data to set: 11 Ir CodE Infrared Code from 0.0>9.9 select the same channel with the beacon 12 Intrt Intermediate time 0/1/2 avaiable only with infrared system with additional beacons. 13 SPot Spot time last lap, select from 1> 30 sec, the last lap time fixed on display 14 times display lap time in ABSOL is the usual time, in DIFF is displayed the difference in + or - against the best lap 15 LIGHt adjust the display brightness from 0 (Turn off) > 8 differents tonality 17 DEMO Demo software to simulate the functions ON to enable and OFF to disable 22 GPS GPS antenna activation, push button +. will appear on display ON, push again the + button and will appear LEARN, at this point the lap timr will start to communicate with satellite, to search it and link it. After setting the signal the LEARN will disappear from display. If you want to use the infrared system, you have to set this parameter on OFF.

6 23 GPS:trac Selection of stored tracks. In this section you have the possibility to upload in the software the track required, use the buttons + and - to select the follows: MONZA ADRIA LOMBARDORE FRANCIACORTA MUGELLO RIJEKA VALLELUNGA VARANO MISANO MAGIONE RACALMUTO SIRACUSA CARTAGENA BRNO BARCELLONA JEREZ PANNONIAN ALBACETE LE CASTELLET USER 00 USER 01 USER 02 last position called USER THREE POSITIONS 0,1,2), is a free space memory, where will be possible to store a custom track, where will be stored untill new data inserted. How to store this parameter: after selected USER 0,1,2, go back in Menu nr. 22 GPS (with the arrows < or > ) select ON with the buttons + or -, now push arrow > and you ll arrive in a position 25, now go with vehicle on a finish line (real or virtual), then press + and the write LEARN will appear (for a while) on display, when the position will be stored a bar graph will appear and the BLEU led flashing (target). Now the set USER is complete. 24 GPS tol menu to set signal satellite accuracy, finish line lenght allowance. The range is from 2 > 199 meters. This option need to increase or decrease the satellite signal in proximity of the finish line. To clear this menu: if you use the lap timer in width tracks we suggest to set with 30/50 meters the range, instead if you use it in track with little width, for ex kart, or minimoto or motard we suggest to set the range in 10/20 meters, to avoid in this way the time keeping in flush back straight. To exit from main menu push simultaneously + and - and CHRONO will appear on display.

7 QUICK SET UP Is present also a quick menu to set parameter in fast mode without enter in main menu. Keep press the button > untill write SETCHR will appear Scroll parameters with > and < Set with + and - To store parameters and exit from quick menu press simultaneously < and > 1 IR CODE set the infrared code in case infrared beacon is used 2 INTRT set the intermediate time if present (0/1/2) 3 SPOT set the spot time (quantity of sec. last time displayed) 4 TIMES select from ABSOLUTE or DIFF way to display time 5 GPS enable or disable the GPS antenna 6 GPS: trac select track or USER mode 7 GPS tol set signal satellite accuracy, finish line lenght allowance 8 LIGHT adjust display brightness for night use Useful advice for Infrared Users: If you want set the infrared code in automatically mode, go in menu IR CODE, then turn on yr beacon (with yr custom code already setted ) press simultaneously the button + and - and you ll store the infrared channel automatically in yr lap timer. Infrared receiver: Positioning the infrared receiver in same side to the infrared beacon,without any hurdles in front of it. Infrared beacon transmitter The infrared beacon must be positioned with the red glass to the track, on the cover you ll find 4 buttons, named: On/Off SET (+) (-) channels chart: 0.0>0.9 / 1.0>1.9 / 2.0>2.9 / 3.0>3.9 / 4.0>4.9 / 5.0>5.9 / 6.0>6.9 / 7.0>7.9 / 8.0>8.9 / 9.0>9.9 when select the frequency turn off transmitter to store the parameter. Remember to set the same frequency in the device see after description. POWER SUPPLY Yr transmitter accept ONLY 12 VOLTS external battery. DON T FORGETT TO SELECT THE SAME OPERATION CHANNEL IN TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER!!! Press ON, then press SET for two second and a P will appear the secon number of the code to set, if you press again P will appear the first nr to set (with dot). To store and exite press again P. If on the beacon display appear an H means that the power supply is too high if appear L means the power supply is low and not enought.

8 TIME KEEPING : With CHRONO displayed on display : To start a new session, without delete the previous session, keep press + and the write start will appear on display ; To start a nwe session but deleting the previous session, press simultaneously the button - and + and the write START slowly appear on display, when the write is complete starting to flash, at this point release the buttons. In this way yr lap timer it s ready to start a new session and time keeping. During the first across of virtual finish line by GPS or Infrared will start. On display will appear S # ( session or intermediate time) close to LAP will show the nr of the lap/s. Each lap time keeped the green led will flash shortly, instead in case of best lap the green led will flash in twin mode. If you use the GPS system, when you are closed to the finish line (grid reference) the bleu led start to flash to inform you that the lap is finish. During the GPS time keeping, is active on display the meters between you and finish line. At the end of session press - and STOP appear on display, that disappear when button - is released. RECALL TIME KEEPING AND SESSIONS When the display show the write CHRONO, press for 5 seconds the button - If no lap time stored will appear NO LAP If after pressed the button - will appear LAPS flashing,when stop to flash, release it and will be displayed: The lap time, nr of session and if present the intermediate time, the nr. of the lap, and in case of best lap will appear also the BEST LAP. To scroll all session use the buttons > and <. TO exit press simultaneously the button > and <. DOWNLOAD DATA (need code DDK 2001 sold separately) Before install the softaware in yr computer, while recall time keeping, positioned the USB interface on the red led and press simultaneously buttons + and -, so the download will start, you ll see for each lap effected, lap time, average speed, and if present all intermediate time.
