Dual Temperature (Fahrenheit/Centigrade) Display Description The BCT536xA/B is special designed for ceramic heating control with 11 temperature settings. It can drive SCR directly and detect heater temperature without extra temperature sensor. The working status is indicated by 7-segment LED displays, with 6 running LED indicate. It has 3 keys for function setting and will be auto-power off after power on 1 hour for 60Hz AC or 1.2 hour for 50Hz AC. Block Diagram Function Description BCT5361A/B is special designed for ceramic heating control with 11 temperature levels 210 F, 230 F, 250 F, 265 F, 285 F, 300 F, 320 F, 340 F, 355 F, 375 F, 400 F. It can drive SCR directly and detect heater temperature by heater-self without extra temperature sensor. It has 3/4 keys for function setting, 7 Segments Digital Tube displays and indicate the working status. Build-in timer will be auto-power off after power on 1 hour for 60Hz,1.2 hour for 50Hz or both 1 hour for 50/60Hz by trimming option. The temperature setting of BCT5362/3/4/5/6/7/8 is as below: Pin L4 is pulled to high level. For BCT5361A/2A/3A/4A/5A/6A/7A/8A After plug in power cord, then push on/off button to heating-on, the level of temperature setting selected is as below: P/N Pin L4:high Pin L4:low BCT5361A/2A 300 F 150 C BCT5363A/4A 355 F 180 C BCT5365A/6A 340 F 170 C BCT5367A/8A 300 F 150 C After push on/off button to heating-off, then heating-on, the level of temperature setting selected is same as former setting before heating-off. 2). For BCT5361B/2B/3B/4B/5B/6B/7B/8B Once heating-on, the level of temperature setting selected is as below: P/N Pin L4:high Pin L4:low BCT5361B/2B 300 F 150 C BCT5363B/4B 355 F 180 C BCT5365B/6B 340 F 170 C BCT5367B/8B 300 F 150 C Push On/Off button twice, the IC will work at the Lock Key Mode, and then push On/Off button twice, the IC will be out of the Lock Key Mode. Off: Once this function enable, the IC will be turned off by pushing On/Off button, and turned off by pushing Off button. Up: Temperature up adjustment. Push Up button once, the temperature setting will increase one level until the highest level is reached. Long push UP button, the ANION will be turned on when it is off. Down: Temperature down adjustment. Push Down button once, the temperature setting will reduce one level until the lowest level is reached. Long push Down button, the ANION will be turned off when it is on. 7 Segments Digital Tube and Running Lights Indicator The display on 7 Segments Digital Tube indicates the temperature settings. Once IC enters Heating-on state, internal timer will start to count. When the timer is 25 minutes at 60Hz ( or 30minutes at 50Hz,when auto detect AC frequency, the timer always be 25 minutes ), temperature settings on 7 Segments Digital Tube will flash, its frequency is 1.5Hz. 4

5 During heating-up, the Running Lights runs up, its frequency is 1.5Hz. When the temperature reaches 27 F -45 F (15 C -25 C) less than the level of temperature setting, the Running Lights is always off. During heating-down, the Running Lights runs down, its frequency is 1.5Hz. When the temperature reaches 27 F -45 F (15 C -25 C) less than the level of temperature setting, the Running Lights is always off. When adjust from low temperature setting level to high, or from high temperature setting level to low, the Running Lights will run once. Its frequency is 1.5Hz. Reset After power on, the chip will be reset by internal POR circuit, 7 Segments Digital Tube will have two options. One is disabled, the other is displaying OFF. GATE pin output low level. Running Lights The Running Lights is composed of 6 LEDs, see the following truth table. BUZZ Once the IC turns on, the BUZZ will output two short buzzers. Once the IC turns off, the BUZZ will output a long buzzer. Once the IC turns on, the ANION will work when this function enable. The ANION can be turned off by long pushing DOWN button, and turned on by long pushing UP button. Timer Once IC enters Heating-on state, internal timer will start to count. It ll be timeout and auto heating-off about 30 minutes for 60Hz, 36 minutes for 50Hz or 30 minutes for both 50/60Hz by trimming option. There is no timer in BCT5362A/2B/4A/4B/6A/6B/8A/8B. 7 Segments Digital Tube Panel Specification 1). 7 Segments Digital Tube signaling 5
