Variety of embedded communication protocols and multiple controls for beeper and LEDs enable interconnecting the reader with broad range of the controllers. The reader s microcontroller board is covered with the synthetic resin; thus the reader is not sensitive to outdoor atmospheric conditions. From left V GND GREEN LED RED LED BEEPER Pins 1 and 2 connection of power supply voltage. Pins 3 and 4 output the transponder s code in a format, which depends on SW1:SW2:SW3 DIP switch settings. Pins 5, 6 and 7 enable external control for LEDs and beeper. The control signal polarization is set with SW4 switch. Strona 2 z 11
3 Reader s configuration: The reader s operating modes are configured using 6-position DIP-switch, located on the reader s bottom. 4 Description of the supported protocols. DALLAS 1-wire + RS232-TTL ( SW1 = OFF, SW2 = OFF, SW3 = OFF ) DATA 0 Dallas 1-wire emulation DATA 1 RS232-TTL-9600 D1 D2 D3 D4 D5 CRC After reading, transponder s code is sended in RS232-TTL format on pin. Frame length 6 bytes. D1 - the most significant bit of a code, D5 - the least significant bit of a code. CRC checksum. CRC = D1 ^ D2 ^ D3 ^ D4 ^ D5 ( suma XOR ) Transmission speed is 9600 bps. Single byte format on DATA 1 pin: START bit 0 bit 1 bit 2 bit 3 bit 4 bit 5 bit 6 bit 7 STOP Each byte transmission is started from the least significant bit. Once a full frame is transmitted, Dallas 1-wire emulation starts on pin. This emulation is continued until a transponder is removed from the reader s operating range. Strona 4 z 11
5 RS232/DATA + PWM/STROBE (5 bytes) ( SW1 = OFF, SW2 = OFF, SW3 = ON ) DATA 0 RS232-TTL-2400/DATA D1 D2 D3 D4 D5 DATA 1 PWM/STROBE S1 S2 S3 S4 S5 In this mode, 5 bytes of the transponder s code in RS232-TTL format is sended on DATA 0 pin. The strobing impulses are generated on pin. These impulses are generated only when the data bits are generated on pin (START and STOP bits are transmitted without strobing impulses). The strobing impulse width changes depending on a value of a bit being transmitted. Transmission speed is 2400 bps. D1 - the most significant bit of a code, D5 - the least significant bit of a code. The format of single byte transmitted on and pins (e.g. 0x59 byte): START STOP Each byte transmission is started from the least significant bit. In this mode, the transponder code may be read in 3 ways: a) using only DATA 0 pin - RS232-TTL format b) using as the data bits, and as the strobing impulses c) using as pulse width modulated source (PWM) Strona 5 z 11

11 Installer s notes: All embedded electronic circuits are protected against external atmospheric conditions. However, to gain full tightness, the connector and the DIP-switch located on the reader s bottom, must be sealed against the humidity. Before the reader s is mounted on a wall, apply the silicon paste layer on the reader s circumference from inside. Once the cables are connected and the operating mode is set, the silicon paste may be also applied on the connector and the DIP-switch. Strona 11 z 11
