1 Contents 1 Introduction Interposer board selection and configurations s Additional Interposer Board (IB) Features Appendix A: Bill of Materials (BOM) Revision control Introduction The SiT6911EB series of interposer boards (IB) are designed for use with SiTime s Elite Platform Super-TCXOs. These IBs enable system level testing of the in an existing TCXO or OCXO footprint on the target board without PCB changes. The IBs are available in 14 distinct designs to accommodate a total of 38 TCXO and OCXO footprints. Additional designs may be added per user demand. Refer to section 2 for details on IB selection vs desired footprint. Below is an example of an IB that is compatible with four quartz TCXOs: RPT7050A, RPT7050P, Epson TG-5501CA, and Taitien TT type. SiTime typically ships the IB with the pogo pin positions preconfigured for a specific footprint per customer request. The user can then solder the pogo pins to the PCB directly for system level testing. The IB can also be reconfigured by the user for a different footprint for which the IB is designed. Refer to Table 1, Table 2, and Table 3 for details of the board configuration vs. different footprints. IBs are intended for electrical and functional evaluation only. They provide excellent signal integrity when properly soldered. They should not be used for environment testing such as vibration or for qualification purposes. SiT6911EB Manual Rev Page 1 of 22

2 2 Interposer Board Selection and Configurations Each SiT6911EB_rev2_XXXXX interposer board (IB) can be configured via pogo pin positions and resistors (R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, and R6) for different TCXO/OCXO package sizes and footprints. Table 1, Table 2, and Table 3 summarize the mapping of 18 TCXO part numbers, 7 OCXO part numbers and 38 footprints to the corresponding SiT6911EB_rev2_XXXXX designs, ordering part numbers and resistors configurations. 20 4 Additional Interposer Board (IB) Features Each interposer board contains pins that can be used to connect external signal/equipment and power to the s, or to add decoupling capacitors and configuration resistors for routing VC or OE signals to various target footprint pads. The IB(s) also come with two headers (P1 and P2) to support the I 2 C interface available in all of the Super-TCXO(s). P1 is used to access I 2 C functionality for in-system programming of output frequencies. Pin 2 is used to select one of the two frequencies preprogrammed into the Super-TCXO (available in future Super-TCXO variations). Table 5 lists the P1 and P2 headers supported on the boards.
