2 Characteristics General Description: The single and dual channel solating Driver, D600S and D600D module is a high integrity analog output interface suitable for applications requiring SL level (according to EC 650:00 Ed. ) in safety related systems for high risk industries. t isolates and transfers a 0 ma signal from a controller to a load up to 00 Ω. t has a high output capacity of 5 V at 0 ma combined with a low drop across its input terminals. The circuit allows bidirectional communication signals, for Hart positioner. n the 0 ma input range, a field open or short circuit, reflects a high impedance to the control device circuit and actuates (deenergizes) the channel Fault output transistor and actuates (energizes) the cumulative Fault output available on ower Bus. Fault output signal for each channel is available when mounted on customized Board. n addition the single channel D600S provides open collector transistor output on terminal blocks. detection can be enabled (two different levels can be selected) or disabled via DSwitch programming. Mounting on standard DNRail, with or without ower Bus, or on customized Boards. D600 unit can be mounted with any orientation over the entire ambient temperature range. Electrical connection of conductors up to.5 mm² are accommodated by polarized plugin removable screw terminal blocks which can be plugged in/out into a powered unit without suffering or causing any damage. The wiring cables have to be proportionate in base to the current and the length of the cable. On the section Function Diagram and enclosure side a block diagram identifies all connections. dentify the number of channels of the specific card (e.g. D600S is a single channel model and D600D is a dual channel model), the function and location of each connection terminal using the wiring diagram on the corresponding section, as an example: Connect Vdc power supply positive at terminal 5 and negative at terminal 6. For Model D600S connect positive input of channel at terminal and negative input at terminal. For Model D600D in addition to channel connections above, connect positive input of channel at terminal and negative input at terminal. For Model D600S connect positive output of fault signaling at terminal and negative output at terminal. For Model D600S connect positive output of channel for at terminal and negative output at terminal. For Model D600D in addition to channel connections above, connect terminal for positive and 0 for negative on channel. Connect SST fault output transistors checking the load rating to be within the maximum rating (00 ma at 5 Vdc (.5 V voltage drop)). Units must be protected against dirt, dust, extreme mechanical (e.g. vibration, impact and shock) and thermal stress, and casual contacts. f enclosure needs to be cleaned use only a cloth lightly moistened by a mixture of detergent in water. Startup Before powering the unit check that all wires are properly connected, particularly supply conductors and their polarity, input and output wires. Check conductors for exposed wires that could touch each other causing dangerous unwanted shorts.
