1 Summary Ersin Çiçek Research Assistant, PhD student at Gazi Uni. December 22, 1986 Gazi University, Faculty of Science, Department of Physics, Ankara 06500, Turkey +90 (505) or +90 (312) ersincicek76 (Skype) Personal website, Linkedin account My interest of science dates back much earlier. As a little boy, I was curious of the surrounding world. Physics told me the basic principles of various phenomena. I won a prize ranked 3rd in the Physics Competition in the middle school in my country. Since these days, I have dreamed of being a pioneer in science. In my college years, I took advantage of every opportunity to enhance my research ability and enrich my research experience in my major. I carefully and creatively planned and conducted the experiments in all the lab courses, such as Lab of Nuclear Physics and High Energy Physics. Since it is a research area that has a unique and indispensable position in many fields in our country, I became more interested in Nuclear physics. I decided to continue my master degree at Gazi University in M.Sc career opportunity presented me with a choice. I started working as a researcher at TARLA facility and study about FELs and its diagnostics, Undulators/Wigglers, optical cavities are especially used in accelerator physics. I also have been in HZDR ELBE radiation facility in Germany as a visiting researcher to carry out my experiments during my M. Sc studies. After publishing my thesis, I gave several national base conferences in Turkey. After finishing my M. Sc, I started to my PhD at the end of 2013 and while reading the journals and by personal recommendation, I discovered that the SANAEM Project Prometheus (SPP) at TAEK which aims to construct a proton beam line and a RFQ Accelerator. Then I started to be interested about RF studies in accelerator physics area under the SANAEM Project Prometheus (SPP). Since 2015, my PhD studies continues about design, producing and tests of RF transmission line components such as its rectangular and coaxial waveguides and converters. Also designing and production of a RF power coupler which would ensure RF power transfer to the accelerator cavity are performed using solely our country s resources. The important parameters of the coupler for an RFQ operating at MHz frequency are optimized, its technical drawings is prepared and it has been produced locally. Besides, Low-Level Radio Frequency (LLRF) tests are performed on the accelerator cavity and on the RF power coupler. Finally I also study about high power RF conditioning and commissioning of the RFQ accelerator cavity. I also attended some experiments about proton beam diagnostics and commissioning of proton beam to the accelerator cavity in SPP project. Work Experience HZDR - ELBE Radiation Source ELBE, Germany Visiting researcher 10 Jan Apr 13 The set-up and properties of measurement devices of the diagnostics and optical compounds are determined in the Photon Diagnostics laboratory of ELBE based upon being appropriate to TARLA (Turkish Accelerator and Radiation Laboratory at Ankara) facility.the optical components and their characteristics (detectors, mirrors, windows, spectrometer) used on table have been defined.to characterize the ultrashort pulses generated by FEL (Free Electron Laser) and measure the pulse length of FEL and also Ti:Sa laser, an autocorrelator was built at ELBE radiation source facility.
