The GPS data (Latitude, longitude, altitude, UTC time) will record in the EXIF file of photos when shooting without any software. Photos can be plotted on a map in Nikon View NX software or Google maps as well as many other programs and websites.

Pair AK-4NⅡ with Bluetooth GPS receiver/logger When first use AK-4NⅡwith your GPS receiver, turn on the GPS receiver, keep camera meter on for 10 seconds, AK-4NⅡwill scan and pair with the GPS receiver automatically in 50 seconds. AK-4NⅡwill remember the paired GPS receiver. In future use, the connection time will be in 3 seconds. If you want change a new GPS receiver, pull out AK-4NⅡfrom camera and re-plug it on camera, turn on the new GPS receiver, keep camera meter on for 10 seconds, AK-4NⅡ will scan and pair with the new GPS receiver automatically in 50 seconds,. GPS in building When going into a building, GPS receiver will lose signal, keep it s power on. AK-4NⅡwill write the last known position data into photos. (Latitude, longitude & altitude won't change, UTC time will still keep update once per second). When GPS receiver get signal again, AK-4NⅡwill recover normal state automatically. Auto Meter Off If Enable is selected for GPS > Auto meter off in the setup menu for D300, D300S, D700, D3 cameras, the exposure meters will turn off automatically after the time specified in the camera Custom Settings menu. This reduce the drain on the battery.

5 For D200, D2X, D2XS, and D2HS, these cameras lack a menu option to set Auto meter off, the camera can t enter sleep mode when use GPS device. Auto meter draws much power from the camera when keep long time working. When use AK-4NⅡ, it always provide GPS data to camera, just turn the camera on or off depends on your shooting needs.
