Among the temperature measurement fields, the thermography that needs state-of-the-art technology is the integration of advanced thermal image processing technologies. Even with excellent technology, the instrument cannot show inherent performance if it is difficult for operators to use. 3 New image pickup element changes the way of thermography Infrared thermography calculates a target surface temperature with a high resolution of 0.05 C by detecting feeble infrared rays radiated from any object at absolute zero or higher temperatures. It corrects temperature data with high precision based on various factors such as the ambient temperature, the lens or another optical system and extraneous noise. The origin of the infrared thermography is the thermal ray tracking technology for military purposes. The image pickup elements as the core of the infrared thermography belong to strategic materials, which are under strict control and restrictions on import and export. Export of these parts to foreign countries is strictly restricted by the laws and regulations of each country. Also, importing overseas products into Japan involves a large number of steps and a long procedure. With the stealth processing circuit, the FSV-7000S changes the image buffer instantaneously, allowing a captured image to be saved on the CF card at any time. 6 Aiming at the best basic function High resolution: 0.05ºC Thermography is used for various applications, such as detection of cracks and peeling of exterior walls, cracks and flaws of piping, thermal load and failure in distribution boards and motor bearing deterioration, and circuit board temperature evaluation. The FSV-7000S incorporates the uncooled image pickup element of the highest level in Japan and features low-noise design, providing the highest resolution of 0.05 C in its class. Therefore, the FSV-7000S ensures accurate detection of even a minute change that may be overlooked. High-speed scan: 60 Hz With the uncooled thermal image pickup element that enables high-speed scan and the high-speed imaging engine using gate arrays, the FSV-7000S enables continuous shooting of thermal images at 60 times per second (60 Hz). 9 Ultimate ease of operations for thermal images and visible images Stress-free operations for shooting, saving, checking and replay of thermal images and visible images Visible camera as a standard feature The FSV-7000S incorporates a visible camera at the top of the body as a standard feature. You may have difficulties in judging fine conditions of subjects and site atmosphere with only thermal images. In this case, confusion may result in measurement data arrangement and report preparation steps later. The FSV-7000S enables effective and stress-free analyses of thermal images in combination with visible images. MULTI RECORD If you select DETAILS from the menu and start the MULTI RECORD mode, the FSV- 7000S shoots and saves a thermal image and visible image simultaneously every time the shutter is pressed. Even if two images are captured simultaneously with one shutter operation, the world-highest continuous shutter speed of 0.5 second will not change. SHUTTER REVIEW If you select DETAILS from the menu and start the REVIEW mode, the FSV-7000S automatically displays captured thermal images and visible images immediately after shooting every time the shutter is pressed. This function is useful for checking captured images. LAST SHOT If you press the VIEW button on the rear of the unit, the FSV-7000S displays the current thermal image, current visible image, and the image captured immediately before in this sequence. This function enables you to check the shooting result quickly without returning to the replay mode. 10 Easy and comfortable finger actions Pursuit of comfortable operations leads to improvement in the sight angle and finger action. One-way view During actual operations, a thermography feels considerably heavy in an operator s hand. Pursuing comfortable operation of the FSV-7000S, Apiste reviewed the way of operations of conventional thermography that is intended to cover all functions on a single (right) hand. As a result, the FSV-7000S offers the "One-way View" design that places all function buttons at a position within the operator s sight. The function buttons used during shooting are gathered on the right hand thumb position, and those used before and after shooting are gathered on the left hand position. Thus, the FSV- 7000S improves ease of operation, taking into consideration the operator s sight and finger actions. 9
11 Shortcut function that concentrates main operations on the cross key (Thumb action) Temperature scale quick setting Pressing the right/left key during shooting provides a shortcut to the temperature scale manual setting mode. You can easily adjust the temperature scale with a single thumb. Each cross key is curved and has a height difference to ensure easy and accurate blind touches. The shape of the cross key represents Apiste s efforts to achieve easy operation. Operation of the right/left key Moving the right/left key to the right (Highest temperature) The right/left key of the cross key is used for manual setting of temperature scale maximum and minimum temperatures. Moving the right/left key to the left (Lowest temperature) Useful LAST MANUAL function To change a thermal image temperature scale to a desired setting manually, you may adjust the focal point by resetting the temperature scale in the AS (Auto Scale) mode if focus adjustment is difficult during shooting. In this case, the LM (LAST MANUAL) function can reset the temperature scale to the desired setting simply with the up/down key. This way, you do not need to repeat troublesome operations on the menu screen. 13 JPEG file format needs no special software The FSV-7000S saves thermal images and temperature data in JPEG format. You can create reports without the necessity of file conversion. Data edition as with digital cameras Conventional thermography uses original file formats to save temperature data. Therefore, when you create a report with Microsoft Word or another application, you must convert the data file with the special application software. However, the FSV-7000S saves temperature data in its JPEG files, eliminating the need for special software and file conversion. You can create a report as if you were using a digital camera. Furthermore, you can perform temperature analysis by using the special software. File information display on JPEG image and selection of information items File information (file name, shooting memo, temperature scale, shooting date/time, etc.) can be displayed in a JPEG file. Furthermore, you can select information items to be displayed and hide the information display. Therefore, you can easily check the file information when pasting a thermal image on a report. 14 Various functions pursuing "easier Interval recording covers a high-speed scan rate of 60 times/sec. to a long interval of 100 hours max. When the selector switch on the FSV-7000S body is set to the INTERVAL mode, you can specify an interval time for automatic shooting/recording. The interval time covers a highest speed of 1/60 sec. to approx. 100 hours at the longest. The FSV-7000S automatically shoots and saves thermal images and visible images at specified points on the site at a desired time interval, on behalf of the operator. An estimated shooting time at a preset interval is also displayed. Point tracking function This function selects highest and lowest temperatures in a thermal image, enabling automatic tracking. Since the highest and lowest temperatures are displayed on the monitor screen, you can check them quickly on the spot. This function is useful to shoot an image by targeting the highest or lowest temperature within the actual visual field. Specific-point selecting function (Up to 10 points) The FSV-7000S displays temperatures at specified points (up to 10 points). 5 points 10 points Temperature extraction function ISOTHERM) This function is very useful to extract a specified temperature range from various temperature distributions in a thermal image. For example, you can extract an abnormal temperature to identify a defective part for the purpose of equipment diagnosis. Furthermore, if a high-temperature workpiece or a machine running out of the target temperature range is present in the surroundings, you can identify abnormal points more easily by setting upper and lower limits. Averaging function (Image quality improvement processing) This function improves image qualities by averaging thermal images. This function is effective to suppress flickering, which is caused by extraneous noise in the surroundings, and to emphasize a minute temperature difference. Image pausing function RAINBOW RED The FSV-7000S provides an image pausing function. When the shutter is pressed, the FSV- 7000S freezes the image, allowing you to check the image to select saving or canceling the image. GREEN BLUE Averaging function eliminates thermal noise.
