First the back wedge panel is stitched, and then single crochet stitches are worked up one edge of the panel to form the foundation for one of the lace sections of the shawl. Yarn will be joined at the other edge of the wedge panel to stitch another row of single crochet that serves as the foundation for the second lace section of the shawl. 5 Part 3 2nd lace panel Special Stitches Same as part 2. Turn shawl so that unworked side of back wedge is now facing up in order to stitch the next row. Foundation Row: Slip stitch into row end and Ch 1, Sc 86 evenly across the 30 row ends. Turn. (crochet tip: Model is stitched with 17 sc over 6 rows, done 4 times, and 18 sc over the last 6 rows) Follow directions as written for the first lace panel to complete rows 1-57 of second lace panel. After last row, finish off yarn. Wet block shawl to measurements and/or preference, then weave in ends. Please note, shawl on model was aggressively blocked out to make lace stitches as open as possible, which created a longer length. If a more closed lace pattern is desired, more rows in the lace pattern will need to be completed to create the desired length. If more rows are needed, try to end on either a repeat of Row 3 or Row 5 to produce a waved edge.
