4 Welcome to the November issue of the enewsletter! As we gear up for the festive season here in Yorkshire, we prepare by bringing you our best suggestions of wonderful gift ideas, straight from the Rowan design team. We also catch up with retailer loveknitting on their forthcoming activity, bring you news of the last ever Rowan Studio collection and hear from Sasha Kagan about the fabulous workshops she has been holding. 8 Vogue Knitting Master Class with Sasha Kagan Date: October 6th and 7th 2013 Venue : Lake Vyrnwy Country House Hotel, Mid Wales Title: Design from Nature I was invited by Vogue Knitting magazine to give a master class for 20 different knitters on each day of the weekend. Each masterclass began with the gift of a well packed goody bag full of UK produced yarns, which was very well received! A slide presentation followed which showed the development of my designs from as many of the knitters could remember either wearing the sweaters as children or knitting the designs for themselves. Carla Scott, associate editor of VK, remembered in 1984, when she was a college student! After coffee and Welsh homemade scones I took the students outside for a walk to get a feel of the countryside, a breath of fresh air and to gather inspiration. We returned to 8 - November 2013

11 This November sees the end of a fashion Rowan Studio. The Last Hurrah will feature a selection of stunning pieces designed by Studio designers of years gone by, with the brief of a showstopper garment for the festive season. The Studio concept was born in 2006, when brand manager Kate Buller, along with designer Sarah Hatton, recognised a growing demand for access to catwalk reactive, up to the minute fashion designs for handknitters. Published every two months and boasting the most current trends, the Studio publications were the perfect vehicle to showcase the catwalk looks as they unfolded. Now, as the online presence of patterns continues to grow, we celebrate the concept as a whole with an iconic last collection and exclusive online look book.
