1 ULTRA REVOLUTION AUTOMATIC GATE INSTALLATION Before hanging your gate please note that each gate leaf is built to open one direction. The adjustable stop will always be on the same side that the gate leaf will open. MIN. 4 POST OR COLUMN STOP GATE screw side (if gate has screws) (4) /8 Bolts/Screws recommended install aluminum post 5 thru bolts steel post tap and screw Hanging the gate is similar t o h a n g i n g a s t a n d a r d Ultra Gate. The mounting plate is 4 square and takes /8 bolts/screws. O n c e y o u h a v e d e c i d e d where on the post you want your gate mounted mark a n d i n s t a l l t h e b o t t o m hinge first. The hinge pivots so you can place the gate in the hinge, raise it upright and mark the holes for the top hinge. PAGE

2 It is very important to make sure that the hinge pivots are completely inserted in the gate extrusion before attaching the hinges to the gate post gate frame extrusion The adjustable hinges come assembled and mounted to the gate. They are made of a plate that mounts to the post(urgh-l) & an adjustable bolt that connects the plate to the motor thru the thrust plate (UR-M0/UR THRUST KN). T h e t h r u s t p l a t e connects to the top o f t h e m o t o r. I t clamps down with (4) 6 M M M e t r i c S c r e w s a n d ( ) 6 M M s e t screws on the side. Note: Once you have mounted the plate to t h e p o s t y o u c a n remove the screws and lay the gate down to service it if needed. No need to take the hinge plate off the post. PAGE

3 Motor Key Release The rd Generation Revolution comes with a key release for the motor. It is installed at the bottom of the motor in the extrusion. To release the motor turn the key toward the hinge post. The gate leaf can be operated manually. Key Release Don t forget to lock it back or the gate motor will not operate properly. This can cause damage to the gears. UNLOCK /4 Turn toward Post LOCK /4 Turn toward gate DON T FORCE THE KEY! If you turn it more than /4 turn you risk spinning out the key release. This can only be fixed by removing the motor and adjusting the key release. Motor Wires The Revolution Hide Motor is installed inside the Ultra extrusion welded to the gate upright. the motor wire comes out of the extrusion near the bottom of gate. (Fig. 6) leaving a loop or slack to the power cable going from the extrusion to the control or is very important. 4 Running Wires to the Control Box As seen in Fig. 6 the motor wire comes out of the gate frame extrusion. One of the most common ways is to run the motor wires to a nearby (not provided.) Regardless of what you use to direct the wires into the conduit, make sure you leave some slack in the wire to avoid any kinking or twisting. It is also recommended to use a cord connector to direct the wire to the. This will hold the end of the wire in place. If at all possible avoid splicing the wires in the. Fish them through the conduit. when running the motor power cable, avoid splicing. whenever possible. the cable should be in a conduit, following local electrical low voltage codes control box (not provided) no splices (not provided) no splices The wire is /4 thick so keep that in mind when running conduit. Also, never run 0V wire and low voltage wire in the same conduit and preferably in the same trench. In typical installations, the MagLock wire (if installed) is the only other wire that will be coming out of the extrusion. This is installed on the control box side by Ultra. The easiest side to place the 4x Control Box is on the same side as your electrical, photo eye and keypad (if applicable.) PAGE 4

5 connect your main gate wires to motor terminals (6, 7 & 8) for right-hand gate connect wire to terminal 4, wire to terminal and wire to terminal 5 once again, use [-] to scroll down and look for mot on if when pressing [+] the motor moves in the closing direction, swap wires & on both motors scroll up [+] to see AUTOSET. press [ok] WHEN THE SCREEN READS HIDDEN BUTTON... for left-hand gate connect wire to terminal 6, wire to terminal 7 and wire to terminal 8 wire #4 (from both motors if are installed) goes to terminal 4 press [ok] and press [+] to switch on. then press [ok] IF MOTORS WERE SELECTED, OPM WILL SHOW. PRESS [+] to bring the nd gate to the fully open position... press [ok] to set limit UPON PRESSING [OK], THE GATE WILL OPEN AND CLOSE AUTOMATICALLY TO TIMES SIMULTANEOUSLY PRESS AND HOLD THE BUTTONS ON YOUR REMOTE UNTIL THE SCREEN READS RELEASE for right-hand gate connect wire to terminal 7, wire to terminal 6 and wire to terminal 8 connect wire 5 to terminal, and wire 6 to terminal (both motors if applicable) press [+] & [-] at the same time to go back to the main menu press the [-] button to close the gate and hold it UNTIL the gate does not move any more. press [ok] THE SCREEN WILL THEN READ DESIRED BUTTON. PRESS THE BUTTON YOU WANT TO OPERATE THE GATE WITH if needed, connect your secondary gate wires to motor terminals (, 4 & 5) this motor will open after the other has started press the [ok] twice to enter programming if two gates are installed, repeat the previous step for the opposing gate. the close limit is adjusted press [ok] to set limit physically at the gate THE SCREEN WILL READ OK. PRESS [OK] TO CONTINUE.. If two gates are installed, skip to this step scroll down [-] and look for lsw adjust. press [ok] scroll up [+] to radio and press [ok] THE SCREEN WILL DISPLAY OK AND THE NUMBER OF THE REMOTE IN MEMORY. repeat the process for additional remotes for left-hand gate connect wire to terminal, wire to terminal 4 and wire to terminal 5 if only one gate is connected, scroll down using [-]. look for logic. then press [ok] OPM (OPEN MOTOR ) WILL BE DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN press the [+] button until the gate has reached its open limit....then press [ok] to set the limit. THE SCREEN WILL READ OK. PRESS [OK] TO CONTINUE.. the screen will read add start. press [ok] again press [+] & [-] at the same time times to exit programming Mounting the Control Box The Revolution Hide Control Box is 4 H x Wide and hinges on the Left Side. The control box is meant to be flush mounted. To access the (4) screw holes located in the corners you will need to open the door. What you mount the box to will determine what fasteners to use. It is recommended to attach using all (4) screw holes. Self tapping screws for aluminum and steel posts (drill pilot hole.) If mounting to a column make sure you can get a solid connection with the brick or stone and that it is flat. The motors come with 0 of cable. Keep that in mind when mounting the control box.
