DAY 2 - CUTTING EDGE Karl Linck is Vice President Engineering at Sargento Foods Inc. Karl joined the company in 1987 and has overseen the strategic growth of the engineering function, including procurement and customization of production equipment, production line layouts and facilities design, packaging material engineering, site selection, and support engineering functions for all production operations and distribution/office needs. Karl will talk about how robotic automation is solving manufacturing challenges and the key role FANUC Authorized System Integrators play in Sargento s strategic direction.

6 DAY 3 - TECHNOLGY EDGE Together Dr. Closs and Dr. Omura will deliver a talk on Business Megatrends and Implications, covering topics relevant to today s rapidly changing business landscape. Major topics include automation of the workforce, risk-management, super-heavy customers and supply chain ecosystems. Dr. David Closs is the John H. McConnell Chaired Professor of Business Administration and Chairperson of the Department of Supply Chain Management at Michigan State University. Dr. Closs has worked with over 100 of the Fortune 500 corporations in areas involving logistics strategy and systems. His experience has focused on the logistics related issues in the consumer products, medical and pharmaceutical products and parts industries. Dr. Glenn S. Omura is the Associate Dean for MBA and Professional Master s Program at Michigan State University. His research has appeared in the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Macro Marketing and Journal of Retailing, among others. Business Week cited him as the top marketing professor at Michigan State, he was twice awarded the Outstanding Core Faculty Award by MBA students, and twice the recipient of the Quality of Excellence Award at Michigan State.
