2 President Greg Laffey, PMP Greg Laffey has dedicated fifteen years to project and program management, as well as business analysis, for several organizations in Eastern Iowa. He is currently lead project manager with the Office of Strategy Management at ACT, Inc., in Iowa City, Iowa, where he is responsible for executing on educational assessment projects that directly tie to the organization s strategic objectives and vision. Previously, Greg was project manager for Midland Information Resources (now Elanders Americas) in Davenport, Iowa, from 2008 to 2012, where he delivered projects to implement online ordering and on-demand print and fulfillment of all Caterpillar, Inc. technical documentation worldwide. He has also served as program manager for Vangent, Inc. (now General Dynamics Information Technology) in Coralville, Iowa. At Vangent, Greg led the establishment of Medicare written correspondence customer service capabilities and the transition of this work from a prior contractor. Greg joined the PMI Eastern Iowa chapter in April of 2004 and has held his PMP certification since March of He joined the chapter s leadership team in January of 2013 as Director of Newsletter and has continued in that role to this date. He is currently pursuing his Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification, as well as Level II certification in the The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) enterprise architecture framework. Greg earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Iowa in 1992 and also holds a Master of Arts in English degree from Iowa State University of Science and Technology (1994) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa Tippe School of Management (1999).

3 Past President Behram B. Kasad, MBA, PMP Behram is Lead Project Manager at Transamerica Capital Management. He graduated in 1989 with an Honors degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Nottingham Trent University, England) and earned his MBA in 1997 with majors in Strategy, Innovation, Information and Technology (Theseus/EDHEC, France). Behram has worked as a Program Manager in the UK and the US, serving in the public, non-profit and corporate sectors. He has previously served as the Director of Newsletter (2010), VP of Communications & Publicity (2011), VP of Education (2012) and President (2013, 2014).

4 Vice President of Finance Carol Scherrman, PMP Carol has been a member of the PMI Eastern Iowa Chapter since She previously served as the Director of Professional Development, Vice President of Operations, chapter President (2012) and Past President ( ). Carol received her PMP certification in 2009 and holds a degree in Finance from the University of Texas Arlington and an MBA from the University of Dubuque. She is currently the Director of Program Requirements at General Dynamics Information Technology.

5 Vice President of Communications & Publicity Saeko VonBehren, PMP Saeko is a Japanese national, who used to work in Tokyo, Japan, and has been working in the U.S.A. since She has over 15 years of information technology professional experience in the healthcare and insurance industries, including project management, interface development and deployment, systems analysis, testing and training. Saeko is currently an associate project manager at United Fire Group. She received her bachelor of science degree in computer science from Hawaii Pacific University. Saeko is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP ) since March 2014 and has been a PMI and Eastern Iowa Chapter member since February She has previously served as the Director of Certifications (2014).

6 Vice President of Education Oliverio Covarrubias Oliverio has multi-disciplinary project and program management background over his 20+ years of professional experience. He has successfully managed projects of different complexity, duration, and budgets in multiple industries for both domestic and international customers. His project management experience spans the telecommunications, education, information technology, journalism, aerospace, and design industries. Oliverio has a bachelor degree in computer science from the University of Texas at El Paso. He also holds a master of science in information assurance from Iowa State University. He is on target for completing an MBA program this December from the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa. Oliverio is the current Director of Programs for the PMI Eastern Iowa Chapter, where he has served since April of He previously served as Vice President and President of the Rockwell Collins Latino Employee Network ( ), and Vice President and President of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) - Eastern Iowa Chapter ( ). He currently works as a project manager for ConnectFive, a company that specializes in User Experience, Design, and Usability Metrics. He is also a member of the Marion Blue Zones Project Worksite Designation Committee.

7 Vice President of Operations Patty Collins, PMP Patty has over 28 years of management experience in the telecommunications and aerospace industries where she has been both a front line manager and project manager. She is currently a senior project manager at TransAmerica and previously served as a senior IT project manager for Rockwell Collins where she managed International, HR, IT, System Analysis and Program Development (SAP) & Product Data Management (PDM) related projects. Patty earned her bachelor s degree and MBA from Mount Mercy University and achieved her PMP certification in She currently serves as the VP of Operations for the chapter.

8 Vice President of Outreach Darwin Hochstedler, PMP Darwin has been a member of the PMI Eastern Iowa Chapter since 2005 and currently serves as the VP of Outreach. He previously served the chapter as the Director of Logistics. Darwin has been instrumental in expanding outreach efforts through his support of the Kirkwood Global Education Network project in 2012 and in establishing a recurring dialogue with the University of Iowa College of Business to promote project management as a profession. Darwin currently works as an account manager with the Baker Group.
