3 Speaker Bio Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi CEO - Abu Dhabi Ports Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi is the CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, the owner, operator, developer and regulator of Abu Dhabi s maritime infrastructure and Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad). As CEO, he develops and directs the strategy and operations of Abu Dhabi Ports portfolio of assets and activities, and has successfully driven the transition from a project-focused organisation to fully operational, customer focused ports and industrial zones business (Kizad). Capt. Willem Bentinck Chairman, ISPO International User Group Marine Pilot Amsterdam, Chairman of the ISPO International User Group and Managing Director Nederlands Loodswezen B.V., Capt. Willem Bentinck completed his Nautical Academy in the Netherlands in He started his career in the maritime industry as a navigation officer on chemical tankers and finished his seagoing career working on cruise ships. In 2000 he became a marine pilot on the river Humber in the UK. After two years Willem moved back to his home country and became a pilot in Amsterdam, where he still is a pilot today. In 2007 he became chairman of the Amsterdam pilots and Managing Director of Nederlands Loodswezen B.V. in Willem was Vice President of EMPA from 2010 until Capt. Jan Frans Van Den Hoek chairman, Rotterdam Pilots Completed Nautical College in Rotterdam Served as Royal Naval reserve officer Became maritime Pilot Was boardmember (operations) of the Rotterdam Pilots Member of the Dutch shipping advisory board regarding the Northsea and since 2013 Chairman of the Rotterdam Pilots and Treasurer within the ISPOIUG- board.
4 Capt. Henk van der lugt IUG administrator Born in Hook of Holland, the Netherlands in 1952, Capt. Henk van der lugt studied on the Rotterdam nautical college between 1969 and In 1972 he joined Holland America Line as cadet. Between 1974 and 1976 he served in the Royal Netherlands Navy as reserve officer. After this he returned to the merchant navy, finally as chief officer. Became a pilot in Rotterdam in After his retirement in 2007 he attended a lead auditor course at Lloyds and became involved in ISPO as internal auditor and administrator of the International Users Group of ISPO certified Organizations (IUG). Dr. Nasser Mansoori ADPorts Dr. Nasser joined the Maritime industry as an Engineer Cadet. Served on board vessels from Junior Engineer to Chief Engineer. At South Tynside College, UK worked as a Principal Lecturer and taught Chief Engineer courses Dr. Nasser held many positions at ADNATCO-NGSCO (ADNOC Group of Companies), as Career Development Division Manager, Marine Personnel Department, Cadetship Program Department, Training Department (Sea & Shore Staff Training), DPA, Company CEO Advisor. Currently works at Abu Dhabi Ports as Senior Manager -Training He is also the Secretary General of UAE Shipping Association Capt. Fahem Al Zamhari With nearly two decades of marine service leadership experience in petroleum ports, Capt. Fahem Al Zamhari has proved his competence as VP Ports Operations in IRSHAD. His career began as a seafarer, before he took up various positions on LNG carriers and tankers, creating a strong base for the management level. He is one of the first UAE Nationals to obtain a Master Mariner certificate and pilotage Licence. In management roles he had served as Station Superintendent & Station Manager, tirelessly to address challenges in versatile communities and had embraced teamwork to seek excellence. As VP Ports for IRSHAD currently he serves as a conduit to efficiently manage the Pilot operations & Nation s Resources.
5 Capt. Maktoum Al Houqani ADPorts A former seafarer, Captain Maktoum Al Houqani assumed different roles aboard seagoing vessels, mainly oil tankers and LNG carriers. He then worked in petroleum ports, first as tug master then later as pilot, steering various types of vessels. In 2009, Captain Al Houqani obtained his master degree in maritime studies from the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS) at the University of Wollongong. After his graduation, he was appointed as Manager of the off-shore petroleum ports. `He later became the Senior Vice President for the Operations in IRSHAD from 2011 and until In Sep 2015, Captain Al Houqani joined Abu Dhabi Ports as Chief Marine Services Officer, and became in charge of the newly formed subsidiary Abu Dhabi Marine Services Company (Safeen). Mohamed Khalaf Al Hosani Ruwais Station Manager Irshad (ADNOC Group) With more than four years of pilotage experience under his belt, Mohamed Khalaf Al Hosani manages 430 employees, including pilots, loading masters, tug masters, engineers and riggers among other marine professionals within Ruwais Port. Al Hosani worked at sea for NGSCO as Officer of the Watch (OOW) on LNG Carrier, from 2007 till With a Higher National Diploma in nautical science/ South Tyne side college/ UK, Al Hosani brings a lot of insight and some important skills to the table. Capt. Lafi Al-Murtaji Team Leader Port Operations, Marine Operations Group Having served as a Sr. Officer on Oil and Gas Tankers for many years, Capt. Lafi Al-Murtaji left active sailing and joined KOC in 2002 as a Marine Pilot, Harbour Master, Port Captain, and Team Leader Port Operations. He is a specialist in the field of Marine Quality Assurance and Risk Assessment with extensive knowledge and experience in port traffic control, vessel operator quality assessment, shipping dynamics and logistics, berthing /unberthing, loading discharging of vessels, hydrographic surveys projects in the sea. His work as an Ag. Manager Marine Operations Group engages him in a huge variety of activities. His other qualifications include MICS and Diploma in Port Management (DPM), Diploma in Maritime Inspection (DPMI) as well as representing Kuwait Oil Company in IMO, OCIMF.
6 Stylianos Marantis Marine Management Systems Senior Specialist Middle East and Africa Lloyd s Register, EMEAMiddle East and Africa Lloyd s Register, EMEA ISM-ISPS Senior Specialist, MLC/ILO senior specialist and ISO /18001// lead auditor/assessor based in Dubai, providing technical advice and support to Middle East and Africa region auditors/ assessors. Client facing BDT support and assisting Dubai Marine green team on ISO and SEEMPs. Stylianos Marantis carries out relevant management system audits both ashore and on board for major key clients of LR in MEA and GEMA area. He is also a highly experienced trainer, responsible for developing and delivering of relevant training sessions/seminars (public and tailored made in-house) and presentations mainly in Middle East and Africa Region. Ali Asad Ali Ruwais Station Manager Irshad (ADNOC Group) Ali Asad Ali is a UAE national with approx. 15 years experience within the maritime industry in both of Oil & Gas sector and governmental sector, including port operations, safety & security, quality assurance, ship management covering both aspects (technical and commercial), strategic and policy making roles. Currently, Ali holds the position of Marine Risks, Standards & Regulations Department Manager since 2013, within the Petroleum Ports Authority (PPA) at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). Ali obtained his CoCs and HND in marine engineering from South Tyneside College, U.K. in 2001 and successfully completed his Bachelor degree in Marine Engineering in 2005, from Northumbria University in Newcastle Upon Tyne, U.K. Capt. Ammar Al Shaiba Harbor Master - Khalifa Port Capt Ammar Mubarak Al Shaiba is the Harbour Master in Khalifa Port & Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi Ports where he has sailed around the world and navigated into many seas and oceans having over 11 years of experience in the shipping and ports industry. In his current position, he actively supports his role in the implementation of applicable laws and regulations in managing traffic and safe navigation of all vessels visiting the port. He has previously held the position of Assistant Harbour Master and Pilot in Abu Dhabi Ports. Capt Ammar holds a Professional Master of Business Administration (MBA) & Bachelor s Degree in Nautical Science from the University of Tasmania, Australia and Chief Mate/ Master Certificate from the Australian Maritime College (AMC) and currently, he is a Member of International Harbour Masters Association (IHMA). Capt Ammar is characterized as an entrepreneur and strategic planner and this attribute has contributed greatly to the birth of Abu Dhabi Ports vision and mission to achieve.
7 Capt. Keith Mclean Capt. Keith Mclean is a First Class Pilot with Forth Pilots in Edinburgh, Scotland. He began his seagoing career in 1978 with Denholm of Glasgow, and prior to moving to pilotage was Master with Fred Olsen of Oslo on VLCCs. In 1993 he joined Forth Pilots. In 2012 he had a «year out» piloting in Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia. Keith was the main instigator of Forth Pilots being the first UK port to become ISPO accredited. He also teaches STCW courses and delivers Human Factors training with Integrated Human Factors in Edinburgh. Mr. Bruno Dockx IUG Secretary, ISPO International User Group Since the half of the 90s Bruno Dockx was involved in the development of the ISPO code and in 2008 he was one of the founding members of the ISPO International User Group (IUG). As IUG Board member (secretary) and member of the working group, Bruno is actively involved in the further development and improvement of the ISPO code. In his capacity as Quality, Safety and Environment manager of Brabo Harbour Pilots and boatmen Company, Bruno Dockx has worked for more than 30 years in the port of Antwerp, Belgium. In he was the driving force in the implementation of SO 9001 at Brabo (recertification in 2003, 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2015) and later on in he was the one who finalized and realized the implementation of the ISPO code (recertification in 2012). More recently in 2015, he obtained ISO 9001 for Brabo Cleaning Company NV, a daughter company of Brabo, that deals with the intervention and cleaning of oil spills in the whole port of Antwerp. Capt. Joost Mulder Chairman Dutch Pilots Corporation Capt. Joost mulder has sailed on container vessels and dredgers for six years before becoming a Rotterdam Pilot in In 2016, he became national chairman of the Dutch Maritime Pilots Association. The association safeguards the professional manner in which over 90,000 vessels a year are piloted by 450 registered pilots to and from the Dutch Ports.
