5 The Horizontal Mississippi Lime It s Real and It s Spectacular Presented by Ladd Sullins, VP of Operations Eagle Energy Company of Oklahoma, LLC Review authored by Angela Butler Ladd Sullins, VP of Operations at Eagle Energy Company, filled in for Steve Antry to give the presentation on the Mississippi Lime Play at the Desk and Derrick Club of Tulsa s July 11 th, 2012 Membership Meeting. Mr. Antry was called to go to NYC to touch some things and turn them to gold. Ladd did a spectacular job filling in for Steve. Ladd should be prepared to be on call for Steve until August 12 th because I hear London calling him to the games! Ladd Sullins, a native of Seminole, Oklahoma is a graduate of the University of Tulsa with a baccalaureate of science degree in Petroleum Engineering. He worked at Newfield Exploration Company as an operating and completion engineer a couple of years before landing a position at Steve Antry s 2009 start up venture, Eagle Energy Company. At 27 years of age, Ladd can boast that he is one of the founding fathers of one of the fastest growing exploration and production companies in the country. Eagle formed in the fourth quarter of 2009 and spudded their first well in March, Four Hunton wells were drilled before moving to the Mississippian. Then Eagle spudded their first well in the Mississippian in June 2010 that began a two rig program starting in July Eagle is currently drilling their 60 th Mississippian horizontal well. Eagle has increased through additional leasing. They currently run a four rig line. Eagle has 77,000 net acres in Northwestern Oklahoma, mostly in Woods County but including acreage in Alfalfa and Seminole Counties. Plus, Eagle holds 5,500 acres in East Woods County in Kansas. Eagle works with SandRidge Energy, a pioneer and leader in drilling and production in the Horizontal Mississippi Trend, to develop successful low risk drilling strategies. There is significant existing available infrastructure in the legacy production fields. Technological improvements allow for horizontal locations to be staked on top of thousands of old vertical wells. New wells are being completed at low costs of $3-4 million per well. Rigs are abundant and require only 1,000HP. Drilling times improve with experience at an average of days from spud to first sales. 6 The Horizontal Mississippi Lime It s Real and It s Spectacular Review continued The area offers mostly production of liquids with around a 50% oil rate. With lots of oil, the area is comparable to the Bakken Play. Eagle is currently producing from 39 wells at an average ultimate estimated recovery of 635 barrels of oil. Vertical wells provide control. Limestone, Dolomite and Chert offer 10-15% porosity; 35-65% water saturation; stacked porosity wedges; and a monoclinal dip. Better porosity areas show vugs and dolomite rhomb development. With high permeability; a carbonate reservoir, and 17,000 vertical Mississippian data points, no seismic is needed. Eagle has been working off of mud logs. Fracture stimulating has been performed using fresh water and acid with one stage per feet of lateral and 9-10 stages per well. Ottawa sand proppant is plentiful. 10,000-12,000 hydraulic HP pressure pumping for completions in contrast to 40,000 needed in deeper, tighter unconventional plays. Momentum has increased dramatically in the last 18 months in the Horizontal Mississippian Formation. Eagle Energy Company continues to soar 6

12 Editor s August 2012 Letter: Dear Members, I enjoyed Eagle Energy Company s presentation at the July Membership Meeting. It was a pleasure to meet Ladd Sullins who filled in for Steve Antry. But, I was a bit disappointed that I did not get to see Steve again. I was anticipating shaking hands with him in hopes that his Midas touch would rub off on me. Being an Okie gal, born and bred, it does me proud to see a fellow native like Steve doing so well in the industry and for our country s domestic energy production. I am looking forward to the Summer Social. It is sure to be a hoot! I ve never been to a murder mystery event. I plan on getting into the spirit of the event by wearing a cowgirl hat that I recently purchased last month at Woodyfest in Okemah. Put on yer duds and I ll see y all there! The ADDC Convention in September sounds like another well planned, educational, and entertaining Club event. I hope many of you get to go and enjoy all the fun things that the Red Earth Club has worked so hard to prepare. Once again, I will be kneedeep in academics and won t be able to attend. Another exciting local event is the Fourth Annual Tulsa Pipeline Expo running August 27th through 29th. I hear the expo has doubled in size. I ll bet on the same for next year. It is good to see a local annual petroleum exposition that is thriving. I believe a forerunner of the current event was the International Petroleum Exposition which brought our beloved Golden Driller to town. He has been a permanent Tulsa resident since his visit in With all these wonderful industry events happening in our area this month, it is hard to think of wandering off too far on vacation.
