5 PROFILE WHO WE ADVISE Our clients, both domestic and foreign, range from individuals and entrepreneurs to listed companies, multinationals, financial institutions and government agencies. We are on the panel of most financial institutions in Malaysia. The firm has been the principal advisor in respect to infrastructure projects of national interest, new and innovative capital markets instruments and financial products. 17 PARTNERS Managing Partner DATO SHAHRIR ABDUL JALIL Dato Shahrir Jalil is the Managing Partner of Shahrizat Rashid & Lee and has extensive experience both in the business and legal sectors. He is also a qualified valuer and has practiced with a chartered property consulting firm. Dato Shahrir s other areas of experience lie in corporate law practice which includes advisory work pertaining to privatisations, acquisitions and disposals of assets, companies and joint ventures. In legal practice, he has been extensively involved in the areas of Islamic banking and private debt securitisation. 18 PARTNERS Deputy Managing Partner Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution DATO AHMAD REDZA ABDULLAH Dato Ahmad Redza Abdullah is the Deputy Managing Partner of Shahrizat Rashid & Lee and heads the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. His experience is primarily in civil litigation with specific focus on corporate law, defamation, arbitration involving commercial and construction law, matrimonial disputes and industrial law. In addition to acting as Lead Counsel for the firm, Dato Ahmad Redza frequently acts as counsel for various legal firms in his area of expertise. He has a broad spectrum of clients which include financial institutions, listed companies, goverment-linked companies and agencies, and over the years has had the benefit of being appointed as counsel for electoral disputes and petitions. 19 PARTNERS Senior Partner Head of Corporate Department YOHAN ANANDA RAJAN Yohan Ananda Rajan has considerable experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and restructurings. In addition, he advises listed companies on their submissions to regulatory authorities including the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now known as the Bursa Malaysia) and the Securities Commission in relation to various types of corporate exercises. Recently, he was involved in bank mergers in Malaysia and the takeover of a bank in Indonesia. In addition to restructuring and takeover exercises, he also advises on initial public offerings and company floatations as well as REITs, infrastructure and construction projects. 20 PARTNERS Senior Partner Head of Finance and Property Department LOO MAY PEARL Loo May Pearl s experience covers a broad range of banking and finance matters including syndicated and bilateral financing transactions, both domestic and cross-border, and private debt securitization as well as loan restructuring and rescheduling. She has advised and represented financial institutions, real-estate investment trusts as well as investment and property development groups in many financing transactions, which involves different asset classes as collateral, ranging from real estate to shares to receivables. May Pearl also has extensive real estate experience. 23 PARTNERS LITIGATION AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION HARJINDER KAUR SUBRAMANIAM ANJAN Harjinder has extensive experience in commercial and corporate litigation. Harjinder s scope of practice involves the commercial law areas of banking, corporate insolvency and restructuring, receivership and bankruptcy and shareholders rights. She also handles defamation matters as well as disputes relating to land and administrative law. A senior counsel, she has regularly appeared in the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court, and some of the matters handled by her have been reported in the Malaysian law journals.
