7 Our Team Kusal Jayawardana (40) CFA, MBA, ACMA, CGMA Managing Director Kusal brings over 18 years of experience in debt capital markets, equity capital markets, corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions, investment management, private equity, credit analysis and operations. He was designated as the CEO of NDB Capital Limited, Bangladesh at the age of 32 to set up and head the NDB s first foreign subsidiary. Kusal has lead/involved in deal teams that introduced a number of innovative capital market products to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh which includes the first utility receivables securitization, tea receivables securitization, securitization of sales executed through credit cards, a traded derivative to issue government licenses and convertible securities. He was a part of many landmark capital market transactions to be executed in Sri Lanka. Kusal played a key role in launching Emerald Sri Lanka Fund, the first and largest private equity fund in the country. Kusal is Chartered Financial Analyst, Associate Member of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK and the Chartered Global Management Accountants, USA and was an Associate member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK. He also holds an MBA from the Open University of Sri Lanka in collaboration with Commonwealth of Learning, Canada. He was a director of Resus Energy PLC (formerly known as Hemas Power PLC), Panasian Power PLC, NDB Capital Limited, Bangladesh and Lanka Communication Services Limited. He was also a member of the audit committee of Resus Energy PLC and Panasian Power PLC. Kusal had previously worked at KPMG and Vanik Incorporation Limited. Kusal is a resource person in finance and capital market related topics. Maduranga Jayasundara (36) - BSc Director/CEO Maduranga founded Liege Capital Group in Within a short span of time, he positioned Liege Capital as the market leader in securitizations in Sri Lanka. Previously, Maduranga set up and headed the Treasury Departments of LB Finance PLC and AMW Capital Leasing Limited. He has senior management experience in Accounting, Finance, Treasury Management and IT. Maduranga holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Statistics and Computer Science from the University of Peradeniya and presently reading for CFA examination. He is a passed finalist of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. Dimuthu Ratnadiwakara (33) BSc,CFA Executive Director Dimuthu holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Statistics and Computer Science from the University of Peradeniya and is also Chartered Financial Analyst. He has worked in DFCC Bank as a risk analyst. Dimuthu also worked as a consultant to the treasury middle office and market risk management department of one of the largest banks in Bahrain where he was responsible for monitoring liquidity, market and interest rate risks of the bank. Dimuthu was a frequent resource person for portfolio management, risk management and derivatives related training programs at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka. Dimuthu is currently reading for his PhD in Finance at the University of Houston, USA.
