1 Nanette Anderson MAICD Nanette Anderson is a director of exploration company RNI NL. Prior to this appointment she was the Managing Director of Southern Gold Ltd, where she was instrumental in securing finance for their key mining project, with S&P ASX 300 mining company Metals X Ltd. Ms Anderson has previously held directorships with Jaguar Minerals Ltd and is the Principal of advisory business Edge Effect. Nanette s career started in the resource sector, developing projects throughout Australia and South East Asia. Moving into the corporate side of the business her experience now spans strategic and company policy development, corporate governance and building stakeholder interest through promotion and networking. The SA/NT AICD Council is committed to advancing and aspiring, new or moderately experienced directors. Through her experience as a director Nanette has seen that connecting with fellow colleagues is a key driver in understanding the similar challenges that Boards face which new directors can learn from. Fraser is an alumni of the Governor Leadership Program. Fraser is currently the Chair of not-for-profit company Bellberry Ltd, which operates Human Research Ethics committees. Fraser is also the Chair of Adelaide Unicare, an entity which operates general practice clinics in South Australia. Fraser is a long standing board member of the contemporary dance company, Australian Dance Theatre. Fraser has held non-executive director roles at Jeffries Garden Soils and Ballast Stone Estate Wines, giving him an insight into family businesses. Fraser has been an active member of the Waste Management Association of Australia, SA Wine Industry Association and various Property Council of Australia committees. 2 Michelle Bentley GAICD General Manager of Hender Careers, Michelle has had a rewarding career in education, training, coaching and career transition. Previously an Independent school A/Principal and Deputy, for the last twelve years she has worked in the corporate sector. Michelle is experienced in providing quality services in; organisational change and restructure, human resource management, career management, training and development. Michelle works across all domains of business and industries and is particularly interested in the intersection between board governance and the empowering of CEO s and their workforce. Michelle has over fourteen years involvement with Boards, including SACE Board of SA ( ), the Communications and Engagement Committee ( ) and the Innovation Development Advisory Group (2014 current). Having graduated from the Company Directors Course, Paul s board experience has been five years on the Committee of Management for Parkinson s South Australia. He was nominated as their representative to the Board of Parkinson s Australia nearly four years ago. Since then he has served for over three years as national Treasurer and nearly one year as national President. Paul has been involved in significant strategic and governance issues for Parkinson s Australia including reviews of strategy, business, constitution and governance. He has led the process of recruiting a new CEO and independent board members. This experience would add value to the SA/NT AICD Council while Paul will be able to give a valuable insight into the boards of NFPs in Australia. 3 Diana De Hulsters GAICD Diana joined AICD in 2011 and has been a committee member of the Tomorrow s Director Committee since 2013, where she facilitates events and contributes to the development of initiatives for aspiring and new directors. Diana completed the Company Directors Course in 2012 while also completing an MBA. She volunteers as a mentor in Flinders New Venture Institute and for Business SA s SAYES. She is a past Presiding Officer of a Community Corporation ( ) and a past committee member of the Australian Tourism Export Council (SA). In her full time role as Partnerships Manager at the Royal Institution of Australia, and in past roles at Simulation Australia and the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce, she works closely with the board. 4 Yvonne Green MAICD Yvonne Green has over 25 years of experience on boards of member focussed organisations including former positions as: Vice-President of the South Australian Chamber of Mines and Energy; Chairman of the Australian Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management (AIPMM) SA/NT Region; SA/NT Representative on AIPMM National Council; and Convenor of Women in Engineering SA. As Chairman of AIPMM SA/NT, Yvonne increased membership and achieved self-funding. 5 Peter Khoury FAICD Peter is the founder and Managing Director of Khoury Consulting, first established in February 1997 to help organisations improve overall performance through strategic leadership, innovation and effective governance. Peter is Board Director and Deputy Chairman of the Adelaide Central Market Authority, where he also chairs the Finance and Audit Committee. Peter is also the Chairman of the Advisory Board of My Money House. Peter has relevant previous experience of over 13 years involvement with CPA Australia including SA Division President for 2 years and served on the SA Divisional Council for 7 years. 6 Nadia Moffatt GAICD A highly experienced and qualified Non-Executive Director, Chair and Committee member with more than fifteen years experience in business, the public and not for profit sectors across Australia in corporate, telecommunications, health and community services. 7 David Saint GAICD David Saint obtained a PhD in Pharmacology and Physiology from St Andrews University in 1982, became a Research fellow at ANU in He relocated to Adelaide University in 1996 and became a tenured member there in 2000, where he is currently Head of the Discipline of Physiology. In parallel with this academic career, he has pursued a business / management career, being founder and CEO of two start-up pharma companies, one of which is now listed on AIM in the UK. He has an MBA(Advanced) from Adelaide University (2003) and GAICD (2012). He is currently Chairman of Bioangels, a private equity investment group, and Chairman of a NFP in the disability employment sector. David s experience spans the higher education sector, the public service and the business sector from both sides he has been a CEO, a Chairman and a Board member. He has also seen business from both sides financially, both as an entrepreneur and as an investor. 8 Ross Springolo FAICD Ross Springolo is currently the Director, Strategic Services and Governance at Charles Darwin University based in Darwin. In this role he is responsible for the University s overall governance function. He sits on a number of external Boards and Committees. Currently these include the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee of the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education, the Risk and Audit Committee of the Menzies School of Health Research. He is a director of FCD Health Limited, the current chair of the Melaleuca Refugee Centre Inc and former Deputy Chair of the Top End Hospital Network Governing Council. Keith is a member of a number of boards, councils and committees of the Anglican Church, including Anglicare SA Limited. As a former Director of the Australian Government Innovation Fund with the then Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, Keith has extensive experience in the complexities and challenges of governance in the public sector. 9 Karen Taylor GAICD Karen Taylor is a highly skilled senior executive and Director. Her career has been spent largely working in not for profit organisations. She has also managed at a senior level in a commercial environment running one of the most successful private RTOs in Australia along with having operated within a government/policy driven environment in her current role as CEO of a national Industry Skills Council. A significant component of Karen s current role is to interpret the political, industrial and economic landscape and its impact on vocational education and training and industry need in contemporary Australia. She has played a key role in influencing the development and implementation of national VET policies along with cultural and practice change in workforce development across the national VET system. Karen has a track record of providing strong and positive leadership to staff of complex and broadly based businesses. She has provided excellent leadership in, management of and accountability for strategic and business plans and financial strategy and sustainability. As a former Director with Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) and currently reporting to a bi-partisan Board of 5 employer representatives and 5 union representatives, she has detailed knowledge of and experience in corporate governance and board requirements.
