Cyr, President and CEO, Sunny Delight Beverages Company Cyr is the President & CEO of the Sunny Delight Beverages Company (SDBC). He led the $400M leveraged buyout of SunnyD and Procter & Gamble s other juice drinks businesses in 2004 in partnership with the private equity firm JW Childs. Cyr recruited 600 employees and raised more than $250 million in debt financing all in 90 days. After acquiring the business, Sunny Delight s management team reversed an eight year

2 volume decline and tripled its profits in their first five years of ownership. Along the way, they also acquired several additional brands and invested more than $150 million in manufacturing improvements. Today, SDBC manufactures and markets juices, juice drinks and flavored waters under the Sunny Delight, Fruit 2 0, and VeryFine, brand names in North America. The Company has a significant Sustainability Program and has reduced the calories from its beverages by 45% since 2007 and operates all of its plants with Zero Waste to Landfill. Prior to joining SDBC, Cyr spent 19 years at Procter & Gamble rising through the brand management organization to ultimately become the Vice President and General Manager of P&G s North American Juice Drinks and Global Nutritional Beverages. Along the way, he managed brands such as Crisco, Folgers, Duncan Hines and Jif. Cyr is an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2010 Award winner and received the Dealmaker of the Year Award in 2010 from the Association for Corporate Growth. 3 Karl Johnson, Vice President Business Development and Operations, PetroNeft Resources (a business dedicated to active exploration and development of oil resources in Russia) Johnson joined PetroNeft Resources, a small E&P company in Russia, on January 1, 2010, as VP of Business Development and Operations. He has over 30 years of experience in the petroleum industry, and was with Marathon for over 27 years. He started with Marathon as a reservoir/production engineer and has worked primarily on international projects in Indonesia, Russia and other locations. In 1991, he coordinated the preparation of a feasibility study for the development of a field in Western Siberia. In 1992, he led the economic analysis of the Sakhalin II Project during the feasibility study, and later became part of the negotiating team that negotiated the first Production Sharing Agreement in Russia. Johnson was then seconded to Sakhalin Energy Investment Company and held positions of Approvals Manager in Moscow, and Russian Content Manager in Sakhalin. After Marathon left the Sakhalin II Project, he headed up Marathon s Moscow office as VP of Business Development. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN). He has a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering (1979) from Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio, USA, and an Executive MBA degree (2007) from Rice University, Houston, Texas. Donald G. Ritter 81, President and CEO of Endurance Resources, LLC Ritter currently serves as President and CEO of Endurance Resources, LLC, an oil and gas production company with assets in Texas and New Mexico. He formerly served as Vice President of Engineering and Geomechanics International and Global Manager of Joint Venture Well Construction, Mobil's New Exploration and Producing Ventures worldwide. Ritter is also the owner of Category 5 Amplification, a manufacturer of custom guitar amps and Director of Blue Star Connection, a nonprofit organization which gives the gift of music to kids with life threatening illnesses. He has a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering (1981) from Marietta College, and an MBA degree (2001) from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. 4:00 5:30 p.m. Leadership Development Workshop (McDonough Center Gallery, Third Floor) Heifetz s Adaptive Leadership Krista Henry (facilitator), Kelsea Shultz, Bobby Payne, Western Kentucky University The workshop is based upon the teachings from Ronald Heifetz s Leadership Without Easy Answers. Participants will be provided with a unique opportunity to get multiple perspectives from both a teacher s viewpoint and a student s viewpoint regarding Adaptive Leadership. The 3

4 workshop will begin with a brief overview of Adaptive Leadership, including its history, basic principles, and most commonly used teaching methods. Following the overview, participants will engage in an integrative activity, which will highlight general concepts related to Adaptive Leadership. More specifically, participants will be assigned a specific role in a given group. The activity will create an environment in which participants must use both individual aspects of their own leadership as well as teamwork to accomplish the given task. 5 11:00 11:50 a.m. Leadership Master Class (McDonough Center, Evans Case Room) Leadership in Context: Culture, Structure, and the Questions Leaders Ask Michael Harvey, Chair, Department of Business Management, Washington College, Maryland Harvey is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Business Management at Washington College. His research explores leadership from an interdisciplinary perspective, especially the integration of social-science research with insights from literature and political philosophy. He is the co-editor with Ronald F. Riggio of Leadership Studies: The Dialogue of Disciplines (Edward Elgar, 2011). The book was recognized as one of the year s best books in leadership studies by the International Leadership Association. He is also the author of The Nuts and Bolts of College Writing (2003, second edition 2013), which has sold almost 100,000 copies. He is an associate editor for the peer-reviewed journal Leadership and the Humanities, jointly published by Edward Elgar and the International Leadership Association. He is the co-editor with Dan Jenkins of the symposium issue of the Journal of Leadership Studies (Vol. 6, no. 4, Winter 2014), on leadership education across disciplines. He currently serves as a member of the Kent County (Maryland) Board of Education. Harvey has a Ph.D. in Government (with a concentration in Political Theory) from Cornell University and a Master s in International Business from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. 12:00 1:30 p.m. Keynote Luncheon (Andrews Hall, Great Room) Women s Political Participation in Guatemala Keynote Speaker: Margarita Alonzo, the 2014 Andi Parhamovich Fellow, the National Democratic Institute in Washington, D.C. Alonzo is a political party activist, professor at Del Valle de Guatemala University and a patent examiner in the biotechnology division of the Ministry of Economy in Guatemala. She has been working as a patent examiner for the Intellectual Property Register at the Ministry of Economy since Prior to this, she was an Intellectual Property Advisor to the Guatemalan Vice-Minister of Investment and Competence and the Latin American Coordinator for the Ibero-American Network of Intellectual Property Experts at the CEDDET Foundation in Spain. In 2012, Alonzo decided to become involved in politics and joined the Transparency, Order, Development, Opportunities and Security (TODOS) political party as a member of the National Executive Committee in the National Assembly. Since 2013, Alonzo has 5

6 served as the National Secretary of Science and Technology of the party, developing entrepreneurship programs that foster information access and social media networking for small businesses. The TODOS party s platform is focused on promoting the empowerment and economic independence of women, community leaders and youth, as well as promoting food security for women and children. Alonzo graduated magna cum laude with a master s in international relations from Francisco Marroquin University and cum laude from Del Valle de Guatemala University (UVG) with a bachelor of science in biochemistry and microbiology. 7 Seth Meinzen, Entrepreneur, Co-Author of The Organic Entrepreneur Economy Meinzen is a nine-time serial entrepreneur who has been committed to starting and growing profitable businesses in the last 10 years. During that time, he has gained valuable experiences from a few business failures, but also subsequent wins including taking a startup full-circle to a sale. In addition, Meinzen has built more than a dozen support groups/networks, five successful events and conferences, and consulted hundreds of entrepreneurs and cities on how to start and grow businesses. In addition, numerous magazines and websites have recognized Meinzen for his entrepreneurial results. These life experiences have made Meinzen passionate about helping others, both personally and professionally. His early experiences have taught him the power of collaboration and how to communicate complex topics and solutions. Meinzen graduated from Marietta College with Management and Marketing degrees and an emphasis in Leadership Studies. He went straight from college into entrepreneurship and has achieved nearly impossible outcomes. Selotlegeng also held the position of Airline Advisor responsible for providing strategic direction to both the organization and the Board of Directors. Ms. Selotlegeng is also the recipient of the prestigious Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow Sapphire Award in recognition of volunteer work and service to the community in Botswana and beyond. She holds an Executive MBA degree from Ohio University and an undergraduate degree in business from Purdue University. 8
