His research and teaching focus on innovation, strategy, and entrepreneurship. His work introduces a new perspective on the relationship among firms, customers, and the broader innovation ecosystems in which they interact to create value. He is a speaker and consultant to companies around the world and is actively engaged in executive education. Author of The Wide Lens: A New Strategy for Innovation (2012) Many companies fail because they focus too intensely on their own innovations, and then neglect the innovation ecosystems on which their success depends. In our increasingly interdependent world, winning requires more than just delivering on your own promises. He is co-author of the best-selling: The Other Side of Innovation Solving the Execution Challenge (2010) is all about how to deliver on the promise of innovation. Companies can t survive without innovating. But most put far more emphasis on generating big ideas than on executing them turning ideas into actual breakthrough products, services, and process improvements. But without execution, big ideas go nowhere. The Other Side of Innovation is based on ten years of research into the best practices for executing an innovation initiative of any size or shape. It offers in-depth recommendations plus analysis of a wide variety of real-world examples of innovation inside of well-known companies. Reverse Innovation (2012). The subtitle of the book is: Create Far From Home, Win Everywhere. It is the culmination of several decades of research, exploring the closing gap between rich nations and emerging economies. As a result of the closing gap, the global dynamics of innovation are changing. No longer will innovations traverse the globe in only one direction, from developed nations to developing ones.
