So here i try to explain a good as I can how to do the new probing. Skills you need for scanning (probing). Astrometrics ( 1 additional probe per lvl) Astrometric triangulation ( 10% increase to probe strengt per lvl) Astrometric pinpointing ( reduces maximum scan deviation by 10% per lvl) Astrometric acquisition ( 10% reduction of scanning time per lvl) Ship and equipment to use for scanning You can use every ship you want for scanning but the best ship is a covert ops.

Easy the faction give you shorter scanning time. Now the cloaking you real don t need when you scan in high sec space. Nobody will every look for you there or shoot you unless your corp or alliance is at war. For the low sec and 0.0 scanning you will need it because its unsafe space. Most of the time you will stay cloaked so nobody can find you. Best place to cloaked is at a safe spot. These probes has a max range of 1064 au and close 64 au. More the enough to scan the hole system. You wont no what you scanning down until you have a signal strength above 25% There are also cosmic anomaly but these you can also find whit your normal ship scanner and nothing else the small combat site s Now how to scan down a site and pinpoint it. First you lanch a deep space scanner probe 1 to see if there any thing in the system what you can scan down. When you find a cosmic signature (sig) you can drop a core scanner prober and start scanning for the sig.

4 As you see i had a lot of hits on the probe ( this was in w-space: wormhole space) When you select 1 of the sig you will see a red sphere.

5 This means that the sig that you want to look for is white in that red sphere. Now you change the scan range of the probe right clicking on the probe and select scan range. You don t have to warp around any more to place new probes. Use the solar system map to move your probes around where you want them to scan. When you have give them a position where to scan press scan and your probes will warp to there position. As soon all your probes are in position they will start scanning.

6 Its depends on how big the red sphere is what range you go to. The way i use was launching a another 2 or 3 probe and try to cover the hole red sphere.

7 After some scanning you get a close hit. Sometimes you don t get a new hit this way. That means that the sig you scanning for is not in range of you probes. Then you launch another 2 probes and place 1 above the other 4 probes and the other below. So then you get this result. Now you shut get a new hit on the sig.

8 If you don t get a new hit then change 1 of you probes to a bigger scan range and start scanning again. When you find a new hit start working for the new red sphere you have now. After a few min scanning you will get a new result you have never seen before. A red ring and most of the time you already now what you trying to scan down. Now what you think. You need at least 4 probes these days to pinpoint a site. So make sure that 4 probes cover the hole red ring. When you have red or yellow dot s: you do the same thing.

9 When you still don t get a hit that you can warp to. Then drop a 5 probe that cover every thing Now you must get a hit so you can warp to and you will have the name of the site to or when it s a hidden belt you will see what in the belt. Also a nice new thing is that you get your probes back pushing recover active probes. This will make your probes warp back to you and come back in you cargo hold so you can use them again.
