2 Testy Pony as originally ritten for cello, but it can be performed on viola, trombone, bass clarinet, and perhaps other instruments as ell, I am open about instrument choice. The narration can be performed live, or pre-recorded: I have supplied you ith both versions of the performance track. If the text is performed live, you are elcome to pace your reading hoever it orks best for you. My recording might be a useful guide as you are orking up the piece, but I am not edded to my pacing as the only possible ay the piece can be performed. When you initially ork on the piece, you ill probably ant to ork ith click. I have supplied you ith a practice track ith the click embedded. Once you have learned the piece, you may not need click any longer; hoever, if you do find that you need it for performance, you ill ant to load the click-free performance track into your DAW of choice ithout arping the tempo. Then set up the tempo correctly in the DAW and route the click output to headphones, hile sending the performance track to speakers. I can supply you ith an Ableton or Digital Performer session ith everything set up for you. If you ish to use a different DAW, you ll need to set it up yourself. The fade of the pre-recorded track at the end of the piece has been left long. You are free to fade the track sooner, either by automating the fade in your DAW, or by manually fading out the track in live performance. I hope you enoy performing the piece!

3 Testy Pony by Zachary Schomburg I am given a pony for my birthday, but it is the rong kind of pony. It is the kind of pony that on't listen. It is testy. When I ask it to go left, it goes right. When I ask it to run, it sleeps on its side in the tall grass. So hen I ask it to ump us over the river into the field I have never before been, I have every reason to believe it ill fail, that e ill be sept don the river to our deaths. It is a fate for hich I am prepared. The blame of our death ill rest ith the testy pony, and ith that, I ill be remembered ith reverence, and the pony ill be remembered ith great anger. ut ith me on its back, the testy pony rears and approaches the river ith unfettered bravery. Its leap is glorious. It clears the river ith ease, not even getting its pony hooves et. And then there e are on the other side of the river, the sun going don, the pony circling, looking for something to eat in the dirt. Real trust is to do so in the face of clear doubt, and to trust is to love. This is my failure, and for that I cannot be forgiven.
