3 Short Bibliography Emily Shaw is a young classical guitarist and luthier currently located in Ottawa, Ontario. She studied guitar with her father, Mike Shaw until university, at which point she moved to London, Ontario to study with Wilma van Berkel at the University of Western Ontario. Emily has participated in masterclasses and competitions in Ontario and Germany, playing for such luminaries as David Russell, Rene Izquierdo, Johannes Moller, Dale Kavanagh, Laura Young, Jorge Caballero, Paul O'dette, and Gohar Vardanyan, amongst others. Emily has played in competitions from a very young age, winning prizes both at the local and provincial level of Kiwanis festivals, and most recently reaching the semi-final round of the Hamilton International Guitar Festival. When not practising or building guitars, Emily enjoys long distance running, sailing, cooking, and drinking tea. She is currently pursuing a masters degree in guitar performance under the tutelage of Patrick Roux at the University of Ottawa. 3 Page
